Should I dropout school to IM ?

Hi everyone
I' m Nhat, come from Viet Nam. I'm an Information Technology (IT) student in University school in Viet Nam. I like Networking and I hate Programming. I think if I learn Networking I will not learn anything about Programming. But now, on second year in University I see everything I learn all include Programing. I start boring and I think IT is not my forte.


During 2 years in Uni, I go to internet to find some work to cover for my learning. I now I found thing called Internet Marketing. In Viet Nam IM is not popular. I think this is my forte, because I can sit with computer hours and hours to find about IM while I can't sit one hour for programing. Now I have some knowledge to make money from IM and I have, but not much.


Now I need some advise from all BHW guys about DO YOU THINK GO TO IM AND DROPOUT THE SCHOOL IS GOOD WAY FOR ME ?

Please give me advise as much as possible. Thank all

NO... Do school and IM. You always need a plan B and if internet marketing fails or even begins to bore you at least you have the skills for a backup plan.

No you should not drop out of school.

IM does not get easier if you don't have to study, esp. when it is IT. There are generally 2 ways to make money online "legally": by earning people's trust or by tricking machines to bring whatever you are offering to people's attention. How could a university hinder you success in either of these methods? I don't think it can.

On a side note, a college degree will give you a big boost should you ever decide to emigrate one day.

Lastly, I don't know the mentality in your country but pretty much anywhere I've been a person with a degree automatically has certain advantages. Not saying they are always warranted but it is a psychological reality.

Do not drop out of school. You'll always have your degree. Its so much easier to get a job if you need a degree. The internet is constantly changing, who knows if IM will even be possible in 10 years. If you drop out now, what will you do in 10 years.

I went to college for 3 months (in the IT field)... dropped out and couldn't be happier!
NO school loans and I didn't have to waste my time

I would do both and do IM parttime until it takes off. you need money to make money or alot of time so consider that also.

School is bullshit but people believe in bullshit so there you go

Yes I know being fully in IM For me has serious advantages - no worry abt jobs and get sacked but Being educated is very important , Uni is not a big deal if you feel university isnt working for you.by all means drop out.

You gotta think to yourself whether or not the degree is worth it. For the amount of time and years you spend in school, you could already be making money and learning much more. If you have the drive to make it, you will.

what rubbish.IM is only unstable if you can't crack it.I make my full income from it.please don't spout nonsense.if you cant make it thats rubbish. OP do what you feel is right

Don't drop out, you never know when you need the degree cert in future. In my opinion, earning in IM and studying can be co-exist.

I am also a degree holder of IT (Networking). I do not regret to get this even though I am not in networking field. I can assure you that programming is useful in IM. I didn't know the purpose of learning programming especially I was the networking student. But now I can code some apps such as link scrapers, keyword generator, fiverr auto private message and etc for myself. I feel great about it.

Its great to have a university degree for security down the road.. you can do some real nice IM courses online and goto school at the same time.

IM can be a headache at times and not always steady money.. a degree can get you a good steady job.. I love IM but also regret not finishing university :/
