Should I delete 70M views for monetization?

Hey guys,
Straight to the point, I have a YT channel with about 70 Million Views from less than 15 shorts. I had created that channel 2yrs ago for a project and it was successful so left it as it is. Now, I want to rebrand the whole channel to turn into xyz (don’t wanna disclose) niche and these shorts are voice overs so won’t be helpful in monetization in any given way.
The sad part is, Archiving these videos won’t be helpful too because YT looks at the most received views and some previous data and stuff but damn it’s breaking my heart that if I delete all these videos my channel will be at 0 views and yes I can restart it and build the new project I’m hoping for. But it’s such a hard decision since it’s 70 whopping MILLION views you know. But that’s not gonna make money. Great case study though.

Looking for any advice or alternative suggestions or lil motivation to take the leap. Or to see if YT still looks at archived videos (been out of YT game for year and half now so things change, been reading a lot here lately to catch up). Thanks in advance.

No. Use it to redirect traffic. I regret doing this years ago for monetization and in the end they demonetized me anyway(lol). I had way lesser views but I still regret it.

That channel has 850K+ subs. Animated videos, do you suggest keep uploading more of those and redirect traffic to new one or CPA offers?
My new project was to clean start in xyz niche, hit 1Million sub on monetization w face videos and I live in a amazing location now and have been receiving brand offers just for having expertise on socials so want to leverage the demand n do what I’m good at. What do you suggest? Buy another channel? My other channels are at 170K and 250K but that’s not 850K subs, you know what I mean.

Seems you know what you already want to do. Yes to all the above!

Are the other channels monetized? If yes just work on them instead of buying another channel.

You can buy other channel but only for the sake of the monetization status. I don't know much about buying a big channel as you might take a risk there if views start to drop and you won't make enough revenue back to compensate or if they are botted subs/views.

As GreenGrass said, you can redirect traffic to other platforms. You can create a new channel and upload videos, so from old channel you can redirect them there if it's about something else, like adding links in description or comment "Click to see my new video: "insert link", or redirect them to your website where you sell something so you can make easy profit.

You can do a lot of things with that great channel, but don't rush, think about what you can do with it.

My friend has a small crap youtube channel about gaming cheats and he is redirecting them to his website to buy cheats for games, you can create a website about something and then create videos about it, you will get many customers.

So the demonetized one is an animations channel? what was the cause of the demonetization?
Im on the same boat and I don't feel like deleting the videos that bring all the traffic. What's the point?
As far redirecting traffic, I have thought about it, but wouldn't that be a risk? You would need a different AdSense to be 100% clear, but I don't now a way to get a secondary AdSense now.
As far as adding links, referees, selling things etc, it is useless. If your niche is animation, then you may agree that nobody buys or clicks on anything.

Don't delete the videos, during monetization just private those videos you think are going to be an issue for monetization, 70 millions views is huge and it will help with your new uploads since youtube recognizes it as "high authority due to views".

We have followed this method and monetized tons of channels for ourselves and clients as well.

What are we talking about when it comes to "high authority"? Just watch time or subscribers or any others metrics?

Also, is it really that important? I've seen a lot of channels in the last 6 months or so (especially shorts) blowing up within 1-2 months since the creation of the channel and it takes them no more than 20 shorts. By that logic they have not authority, but they still succeed. I also heard about people ditching a channel after 10 or so unsuccessfull videos and starting a new channel because they believe brand new channels get an algorithmic boost.

No, the other channels aren't monetized right now except the personal vlog one. Other channels were cashflow channels but I moved to pursue a different career for a while so I didn't upload any new videos hence got demonetized as every year you need certain number of uploads. I can easily monetize other channels but where's 250K and where's 850K subs you know.

The traction on the channel isn't that much as it's a 2yr old channel/video. So either I can upload more similar videos and redirect. Noted the idea down, I need to think lil bit more about it.

-Yes it's an animation channel. I moved to pursue a different career for a while so I didn't upload any new videos hence got demonetized as every year you need certain number of uploads. So I can take the risk of applying for monetization and wait a month for re-applying with new plan or just delete those videos and apply at once sure shot.
-Well it depends on what your plans are, mine was to entirely rebrand the channel and I am not worried at all to reach monetization, nor worried about getting traffic because I know my ways and sure about the traction that I need. Also, my video was 2yrs old so I get like 500 views a day on that viral video but not that I am interested in animation anymore or atleast on that channel. So I feel like those videos served it's purpose but in that process deleting 70Million views is crazy when a case-study could be done or any other way you know. I am still researching some more stuff and hoping to keep those videos but I doubt if I'll get monetized with them there.
-As for redirecting traffic, I make sure that my original channels don't have any black hat methods to them. They are solely based on marketing and hoping for luck and seo stuff like that. Just basic original stuff. But the cashflow ones, yes, a lil methods don't hurt. Original channel is linked to original AdSense. Cashflow channel was linked to different AdSense.
-I agree, that traffic isn't in the same interest market as my new project.

How are you in the same boat, what's the struggle and thought process behind it?

- Wait! this is literally what I thought but the way YT considers monetization is, they look at archive videos too before monetization especially the video with the most views. That's was my whole concern. I sent you a direct message as well to discuss more about it. Since you hadn't had any problem I assume the rules have changed? This would be my BEST bet.
 
Why not open a new channel and direct the audience from the old channel to the new one?
 
keep those videos and ignore them or make them private and move on, after a long time most people won't know what happen and will just receive notification of your channel, which can also be weird in cae they don't remember they subscribe for that content if is something peculiar.
 
I would never advise you not to trash your 2 years of effort, because they weren't mine. Deep down you already have an answer.
