So my old PC broke in the moving and I am currently in the process of fixing it, until then I want to buy another PC or laptop under 400£

Pros of PC:
  • Powerful
  • Will use it in IM
  • Can host things/help me automate task
Pros of laptop:
  • Portable
  • If it's foldable I could use it for designing
Give me your suggestions people!

I am limited to a 400£ budget as I mentioned above, if I went the laptop route I would've probably went for a Lenovo think pad and if went the PC route something like this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/8ZHrWD (I already have 16GB of DDR4 RAM & a hard drive.

Please give me suggestions they would be really helpful

Try to buy a used one and then you could upgrade the ram, cards cores etc, I bought 4 imacs for a 100 each and two macbooks for 150 each from goodwill. Best investment I ever made, lmk if u have and questions

Id buy a laptop. It will piss you off being stuck in the same place all of the time, sitting upright on a chair. get on the couch its more comfortable. :)

Then you change the parts one by one right? But its hard to find a without scratch pc these days. :(

Oersonally I would go with a laptop because of the portability. A desktop is only good if you also have a pc. I like to go to Barnes and noble or Starbucks or any place with WiFi and work cause it gets me to not get distracted and actually get a lot of work done. Your preference but for me I would go laptop.

Not really, you could get very cheap parts or scrap computers from ebay or bstock

Sure thing :)

I will go for PC. When you have enough money buy a laptop then.

PC, I was using i7 CPU laptops for 7 years. Bought PC... i5 4th generation destroys laptop i7, even no "U" letter
Desktops are powerful

If what you are doing will take advantage of lots of cores, look into a dual x5650 build.

For that price, buy a PC, an assembled one ofcourse. PC is better when it comes to being "bang for buck". What I do personally is have a decent laptop for taking my work to office, and have a beast of a PC at home for graphics intensive work.

If you still didn't make the choice, I will recommend Acer Nitro 5. Really good price, with really good specs. Good for multitasking and gaming.

Oh, I'd definitely recommend a laptop in this situation.

If you go through laptop route then go for a gaming laptop. It will handle everything you throw at it. It's well within budget for even some new models.

AF marketing on all places = laptop

gaming, marketing, bots, etc. = pc

Seems like I'll go for a Laptop. What are your Laptop recommendations under 400£? (The nearest Goodwill is like 5 hours out, any laptop second hand stores in UK-Manchester you are familiar with?)
