Hello guys,

This is my first post here, but for a long time I know this forum and learned a lot from here, so before all, I would like to thank you guys a lot.

Even learning a lot here, I never put into practice all these things that I learned, because I always planned too much...

So, 2 days ago, I decided to just do, no excuses and no mass planning!
I opened a Shopify store with Oberlo and started to build my "brand" with Instagram. All manual, no bots no nothing.

The beginning:
  • Created Shopify store with Oberlo - DONE
  • Imported some golden starting products - DONE
  • Created Instagram page - DONE

First Update (26/07/2018)

Here we started this thread, but I already have the store and Instagram up and running for almost 2 days:

### Stats ###
  • 0 +120 Followers
  • 0 +67 Website visits
  • 0 +2 Contacts on email list
  • 0 +0 Conversions
### Work Done ###
For now I'm just building my audience trough Instagram, and trying to get some website traffic.
Today I installed my newsletter popup and started to build my mail list with the 10% coupon on registration strategy.
By now I'm making some experiments trough my products, t's not a single product store, so i'm building my catalog little by little.

### Bank ###
$ 0,00 - No investments for now (Still on Shopify trial)

Hope you guys follow this journey and we can share some knowledge, since I'm pretty much a beginner on IM.

See you!

Am really following this....Hope I can make use of this here in Nigeria. Thanks and bless

Thank you guys for the replies!
Lets keep going

How much your expense and invest until now?
By now I didn't expend anything, I'm still on Shopify trial days...
Let's see if I can make $ 29.00 until 05 August, otherwise this will be my first expense
And I didn't invested anything other than time

Daily Update (27/07/2018)
Here we are again... Today it was not the most non-stop day, had some unrelated things to do, but spend a good amount of time working on it:

### Stats ###
  • 120 +23 Followers (143)
  • 67 +16 Shopify Sessions (83)
  • 2 +0 Contacts on email list
  • 0 +0 Conversions

### Work Done ###
> Today I just made some Instagram posts, followed some people and got some follow back.
> Got some followers related to one of the "sub-niches" of my brand trough the posts... it was pretty successful.
> Added a handful of new products to my catalog and imported some Aliexpress reviews to some products (nothing crazy, around 2~3 recent reviews per product)
> Tried to implement some scarcity app to my FREE + shipping promotion, but had no success, dunno why the app didn't work. This will be at tomorrow's plan
> Manage to contact a Instagram influencer (pretty small one, but oh well) and made some agreement, will get a shoutout in the future

### Bank ###
$ -4,00

For tomorrow, I'm planning to spend some time improving the Shopify store, with apps and more eye catch images as well as improve the product descriptions and so on...

Taking advantage of this post, I wanna ask you guys one thing:
By now, I have only Paypal as a payment method...
Is this a crucial thing? If it is so, which payment gateway do you recomend? (I cannot use Stripe, they have no option for my country)

Thank you!
See you!

You have other alternatives for payments.
But I would prefer.

Here are your choices :
Worldpay
Sage Pay

but in regards to using paypal payments they will be charging you another fee. Why not use the in-house shopify payments?

Thank you for these two, I will look into it a little bit more
About the Shopify payment, I can't use, because I want to work with dollars, that isn't my country currency, it's a big headache to do anything related to selling things here (especially dropshipping from Aliexpress), don't even want to target anything here, and Shopify makes me work with my shop "location" currency (at least I think)

Just a little quick update
I just made my first sale :D

Daily update (28/07/2018)
Hello guys, today was a pretty successful day, even being weekend and all the things slower...
As mentioned, manage to make my first sale (small amount, because it was FREE + shipping product, but I'm very happy with it)

### Stats ###
  • 143 +38 Followers (181)
  • 83 +18 Shopify Sessions (101)
  • 2 +1 Contacts on email list (3)
  • 0 +1 Conversions (1)

### Work Done ###
> So, today I manage to do some work unrelated to Instagram growing.
> First I made some improvements in the Shopify store... managed to get the scarcity app going, because I'm finishing my FREE + shipping promotion tomorrow (Yea, I'll actually end it lol)
> Made some posts about this ending promotion to see if I can get some conversions until tomorrow, added some niched posts as well as following people to get more traffic on Instagram/Shopify
> Remade a session on my store homepage so it looks more professional and added some code to build a related product row on my product page
> Made a new campaign on Mailchimp to thank all the new costumers 1 hour before they purchase something (Now I have 2 campaigns, one for newsletter subscription to get 10% off, and this new one)

### Bank ###
$ +2,00

And for now, to finish this day, I'll start working on some spreadsheets to help me get organized.
I plan to make one so I can easily find my products AliExpress links, as well as they original price, bla bla
Another one with Instagram posts ideas and pictures (since I post some messages there), this way I can minimize the time I take to build my posts...

That's it
See you again tomorrow =]
Thank you guys for following this

Hello guys, I want to ask you a question...
For now I'm just planning this, I don't know if its something that will help me, but

I'm thinking that trough blog content I can manage to grow a little bit my store traffic, but the question is:

What in your opinion will do better?
> Make a Facebook page and post some third-party links about my niche so my followers can read. << easiest and less work to do
> Open the blog section on my Shopify store and scrap some content from the web and spread it somewhere (where? Instagram isn't for it I think) << a little bit of work, but I can manage that
> Or both? Open the blog section and spread it on my Facebook page? << Oh god, I'll cry all night to do this

Thanks guys!
See you at the end of the day
