I used PRStorm a few times to try and get a few more back links. Today my IP was blocked by the server I was using. I contacted support. The got back to me saying:

    Hello,

Your IP was automatically blocked by the server firewall for mod_security hits. This probably should not happen, and I'm moving this ticket to our security department to look into this. In the meantime, you should have full access again.

What the hell does this mean? I also didn't use a proxy when I used PRStorm. Is it possible for them to see that I was running it. Can they than stop hosting my site?

If it matters I'm using SurpassHosting.

Also I ran PRStorm about 2 weeks ago, if it's that wouldn't I have been blocked sooner?

PR Storm is considered a referrer spam tool. If you use it without a proxy, (or without checking to make sure the built-in proxy feature is actually working,) then you're going to get slapped.

This is what I found on Mod_Security

    What exactly is ModSecurity?

ModSecurity?is an open source, free web application firewall (WAF) Apache module. With over 70% of all attacks now carried out over the web application level, organizations need all the help they can get in making their systems secure. WAFs are deployed to establish an external security layer that increases security, detects and prevents attacks before they reach web applications. It provides protection from a range of attacks against web applications and allows for HTTP traffic monitoring and real-time analysis with little or no changes to existing infrastructure.
Where do I get more help on ModSecurity?

    Code:
Check either the open source website, http://www.modsecurity.org/ or the commercial Breach website, http://www.breach.com/ Other good resources are available in the source distribution, including the ModSecurity Reference Manual on the Documentation page -
Sorry I can't help with more understanding of this.
