Shifting from JPEGs to WebP images

It seems like google is giving priority to WebP images now and I'm thinking of converting all the JPEG images to WebP.

I have a doubt. I only see prioritized WebP images only on google but not on Bing or Yahoo. It looks like it's not a good idea to change the image format of sites that has mixed traffic along with other search engines.

What do you think about it?

If anyone need it. Found 2 WebP image converters that support Ps.

*GitHub plug in was the only one which worked on Photoshop CC. But you can try on yours.

Are you referring to the websites? If it's WP you can just use a plug in instead of changing all the images.

I thought there was a lot of incompatibility for that? ^ Maybe use a plugin instead.

One problem of the WebP image format is that at the moment Safari 13.1 doesn't support it, so the images might not be properly shown to the Safari users.

Use a wp-plugin that converts to webp and uses jpg (original source) as backup if browser not support webp yet .. This is the way to go.

Use Imagify it’ll show webp where applicable or it’ll show normal image

Another solution I have started to use more, is https://www.gumlet.com they also provide/deliver the images on Cloudfront CDN .. very nice solution .. look in to it .. They have a WP plugin to .. easy as * .. =) .. and fast ..
