Another huge tip:

1. Build links your competition can't replicate.

When I was learning seo research and competition analysis, i discovered most seos and myself avoided competition which had links I couldnt build.

If I have a site with a lot of pbn links and few other links apart from web 2.0s, I know a competitor can beat me with better or more pbn links.

But if a site has links from a variety of unique sources, your average seo cant tell what link is helping the site rank.

Due to this, once I start ranking, I build unique links. At first I used local community links, paid press release links, niche directories.

Now I do that plus multiple links from amazon (developer and cloud links), google (google sites is uncommon and huge for throwing competition off), ed.ted links, google chrome browser extension links, etc.

The concept is if you build links competition cant build, or harder to get links, competition will not try to beat you.

And it works. Very well.

Joe Blow SEO sees my site backed by ten great pbn links. Number two has a better link profile until I add ted talk and amazon links. My competition thinks those diversity links are why I rank.

But I rank from my better PBN. The competition doesnt know that.

Links like health on the net are hard to get. Hours of complaince work. So if I have a site related, I get that link. The competition sees this and cant beat me due to superior links or my diversity. But it doesnt matter why.

If the competition cant build the link, they assume thats why they cant rank. You keep number one ranking and avoid peoole trying to beat you with more pbn links.

This is working smarter, not harder. And it feels great when you keep number one rankings and multiple sites rising to page one only to quit because your site has more diverse links.

This rule is to basically rank, and them build links to throw off competition. I make a lot of money because when seos look up "purple widget" and my site is one. They look at my link profile and they see a wikipedia link, a ted talk link, a google site link and an amazon link. They dont know how to build them, so I remain untouched at number one.

The seo reality is, unless I am up against @Leith , or a very competent company, the normal seo wont know the difference.

Is a valid link in the eyes of Google?

Edited.

I see what you mean.

This is not meant to be a direct link but it does count as a link when googlebot follows and reads the link content. Or at least it used to. If not then do not do the editing part and ping it as is.

Structure your content in Silo's. If done right you can outrank even the most 'High Authority' domains and rank for some of the densely competitive keywords, without much backlinks.

Fair play op, if you can get enough people who know what they are talking about to reply you get a free business model that actually works.

Make your article titles more clickable, even if that means serving up naked clickbait. If you are good with ranking to some extent but are getting stuck, it could be a difference maker. Instead of "About Crazy Mini-Widgets" (your keyword) you could go with a less bland "13 Deadly Uses For Crazy Mini-Widgets," or even "Who Else Is Lying To Us About Crazy Mini-Widgets?"

There are sites that will auto-create such titles for you, like this one:

Could you explain how to ping the url? What does this trick do exactly?

You just ping it with https://pingomatic.com/

it makes Google follow the link and index your website.
Googlebot reads the content of the page including your website and gives you a link.

I dont care what anyone says on here that this does not work because it has worked for me many many times and given me a link so it's up to you if you go with it or not.
