Severe Depression and Anxiety

I went to school for clinical psychology and neuroscience.

Your depression is most likely a side-effect of the anxiety.

You’re not going to find any quick fixes here.

All of the suggestions: exercise, sex, meditation, etc.. can only mask the real issue to a certain degree.

To cure the neurotic anxiety and depression, you will have to perform a lot of self-introspection which is best done under the guidance of a counselor/therapist.

You can also have blood tests done to rule out vitamin and hormonal deficiencies.

But in opposition to what others are saying—the chances of having highly a resistant/genetic depression or anxiety is extremely low.

CBT with a focus on overcoming your rumination patterns will disrupt the depression and open up the opportunity to attack your anxiety directly.

If you would like—you can DM me, and we can go over some quick exercises to open up your emotional blockage.

Also please see a therapist and start your recovery ASAP.

i was diagnosed with aggressive issues in my teens. im 48 now
its just something i live with, anything triggers me to snap at people
even when it isnt justified - its like a stick of dynamite going bang
outa no where, and as fast as it flairs up, its gone. i feel lucky
i no i have it, so i no to keep my distance from people, what about
the people who think there behavior is normal and do nothing about it.

but as anyone here on bhw knows - my dogs take the edge of it,
long long walks everyday in the woods/fields just me n the dog
made it a little more bearable , im married 2 and how she puts up
with it after 16 yrs i dont no, guess shes use to it, probably thinks
there he goes again.

now i have no dog after last week being pts/cancer.
i miss that emotional crutch. rip buddy

I'm so sorry about your dog may he/she RIP.. Kudos to your wife, she truly loves you and understands what you go through from time to time.. You are truly a soldier to have survived depression for such a long time. You're stronger than you know..

  1. Move away from people with negative vibes.
  2. Refuse to trust people with all your heart.
  3. Always offer to others what you can afford to lose.
  4. Don't be dependent on anyone.
  5. Truly understand that no one owns you any entitlement.
  6. Have a resolution that whoever doesn't want to stay in your life can get replaced easily.
  7. Never live to impress anyone, not even your parents.
  8. Embrace your failures and work towards avoiding them in the future.
  9. Give yourself treats wheneve you feel the need.
  10. Always have financial backup and ensure you have at least two solid source of income.
  11. Have a monthly and annual goals listed someonewhere and ensure you are working regularly to achieve them all.
  12. Appreciate every little development of you.
  13. Prefer to help random persons than people you know, and do this any time the chance presents itself. Don't ever expect in return favours you offer these people. But note that someday, you will definitely get back all good deeds you have done to these strangers right here on earth. The reason is this. Some human beings cherish little things. And just like some humans beings can do anything to hunt down someone who has hurt them , there are people who are meticulous and would want to ensure they pay you in manifold of goods you have done for them.

These are my personal methods which have been working for me.

Just be optimistic and dont think much about it.

Even if you take meds, see your shrink etc, if you wont help yourself, you wont get well.

I was prescribed clonazepam and even diazepam but I never took it since I know its addictive and I dont want to be dependent on it.

So I fought it. It is just you who can fight it. Be POSITIVE thats it.

Take it from me, my anxiety attacks crippled me for 4 months, bedridden, I am still experiencing it but I can fight it now.

hey, I'm sorry to hear about this.
First of all, I have severe anxiety myself - actually thinking of blogging about it. that's why mainly im here.

I can tell you what worked for me. Morning workouts, yoga, meditation, practicing something you like and frees your mind - I paint occasionally, Ashwagandha which is a supplement, making sure I eat healthy and sleep enough hours.
All of those things help you cope with anxiety, but you need to discover your triggers and how to fix those from the core.

Good luck!
