Sent a couple more emails and paypal money requests. If I don't see these 2 more guys not responding to any of them, I am gonna have to report them to mods and open 2 new threads. Sad to see that BHW is getting filled with Scammers pal. SUCKS

Narayanan86, you just learned an expensive and emotionally exhaustive and time consuming lesson. Cash upfront is king unless you are using Elance or some other 3rd party work for hire payment mediator.

You also learned another valuable lesson; BHW is a great community. However, BHW does have a percentage of moles, trolls and scabies. These individuals are here because they are working under the false impression that BHatters are in the business of ripping companies and people off.

Like a scab, theses individuals cause the good BHW members to itch, scratch and become inflamed. Unfortunately, the only cure for these scabies is the ban hammer because the majority are not going to pay up or deliver what they promised since they were being deceptive from the get go.

Oh, and one last thing, [a little humor as it were]. In this video is a "TRUE" servant of god who knows how to treat the people and has a special connection to the lawd. If you sow a seed of $1000.00, this genuine servant of god GUARANTEES that you will receive a Triple Favor Miracle, LOL!!!! Sow a seed of $1000.00 and he will miraculously get those who owe you to pay up, LOL. The question is, "Do you still trust the servantofgod?"

Getting advance before starting the work is totally ETHICAL to me now.

Although that is always an option, finding someone to give out an advance may prove to be difficult because they might be afraid of being scammed by you.

I think the best-case scenario for you when working as a freelancer/contractor would be to use eLance, Freelancer.com, or some other website that offers an "escrow" service.
It's not a perfect system, but it's the best solution most of the time.

...so you learned a lesson. approach it differently the next time. you got solutions mentioned.

so hopefully it all will work out in the end and you get paid your money - and do not get in further trouble because of delayed/not received payment.

Another guy who is a Jr.VIP in BHW is avoiding me this time. I have completed the work and sent him invoice ($150), emails, PM on Sunday (14/5/2011) and yet to get paid. His latest visit to the forum is today (4 hours back)

Should I create another thread to wait for him or report him or bring his sites down? I really don't want to do 2nd or 3rd, as he had delayed payments before but paid in the end. But this time he's not even responding to my messages on Skype although he is online most of the time.

Someone please tell me what I should do

contact a mod and discuss with him how to deal with the other 2...
...maybe/hopefully it will help if they contact the people and then things can be solved somehow.
they at least should give you guidance about how to go on.

You open separate threads for separate issues. Make sure you attempt to every avenue of resolution before posting a shitlist thread. Informing the person you are going to shitlist them is a good idea as well, as a last resort. Make sure you post all the proof you have in the opening post, so we don't have to wait.

i think charging more and make others, honest customers, compensate for the bad apples isn`t the right way to go.
if you think you are selling yourself short and are underpaid for what you do - you may of course rethink your pricing. but do not let others compensate that. you may lose potential customers.

you have been shown ways to avoid situations like these - use elance and likes. get paid upfront an amount of money etc. etc.
stick with that route and build a good rep as you seem to be able to do so, selling your services and being a good guy to go with.
if you suddenly do more or other work than required - negotiate additional fee.

and now do as bleemz advised you to get the problems solved...

I am collecting the proofs for this Jr.VIP guy too. I don't know how cold-blooded one could be to get the work done and avoid responding to the guy who did the job. Warned him in Skype that I am gonna shit list him if he continues ignoring me (he's online and not responding yet)
