September Google Update

Its not about helpful content. I think that's just an excuse to rank and derank websites. Since garbage content ranks better after this update.
garbage content ranks after updates sometimes, yes, but it will vanish after a while (1-2 weeks used to be the norm, we will see how long it takes this time)... But yeah, it's not about helpful content, it's about shuffling the SERPs to push people into buying ads

You can wait one more week for things to totally settle.

200 in 3000 is a fraction to have any major impact. Keep at it and update the rest.

Analyze what works for top competitors and mimic that. Ideally make it even better.
  • formatting
  • headings
  • sentence structure
  • context
  • matching of search intent

That's a good point. You never win all updates.

Nice explanation though!

Okay i will wait for about a week or two to let things settle down.

The "Helpful Content Update" has nothing to do with your content so don't change anything. Just wait and see if your rankings slowly climbs back up while you update and posting new content. I've lost 70-80% traffic as well in this update and the websites ranking now in my niche are absolute garbage AI content that are posted on big news sites that are not even optimized to rank for those keywords. And all the new Google ads as well as Reddit and forum post ranking on first page makes no room for us with smaller websites even though they offer much better content.
Same I have also lost around 70%-80% of the traffic went from 2700-3000 visitors to 400-500 visitors now.

Some of my rankings increased, others dropped. It is completely unstable. Even now, in some of my niches I am on #2 for desktop, but on #4 for mobile, then every day it keeps going up and down. Sometimes #6, sometimes #1.

A few years ago we could create websites with great content, build quality links and expect a certain result. You could even do churn n burn websites and you knew after a couple of months you will be Penguin or Panda updates. But now? Countless updates. Unless you are Wikipedia, Amazon or any other "trusted authority" websites, your income/rankings are in a constant risk.
So true, One of my other website traffic is increased by 40-50% and the things is both have same writing style, both have same kind of articles with kind of same word count but both are in different niche.

You can wait for some more time. Also update the existing articles, keep publishing the new articles & promote them on social medias. Make sure that your on page structure is good. If needed build some high quality links.
I am publishing regularly around 5-10 articles, will wait for a week or two the we will update the content

Share your experience here once you recovered your old traffic.
Sure

It's so true....

Today, these Google updates no longer make sense when you look at the SERPS. A beautiful site with quality content finds itself far behind content from IA or reddit etc? Fuck google! we're bored of making strategies by listening to its recommendations so that it can screw us on the next update. And now that they're making one every 6 weeks, it's becoming unbearable.
So true, just fed up with this game

Steady so far. Where has it been rolled out?

Lucky, the update was started on 15th sep and ended on 28th sep

You need to wait for shoot. Don't update the article fully. Wait for a while to settle down

ok

I lost 30% traffic after update. Now, I published some guest post for rank again. Let's see what happened in next.
Don't forget to share the results.

By publishing high-quality articles on your site, you will be able to attract more visitors and regain your traffic.
Already doing this from past 8 years still the traffic drops.

Yeah true.

The only counter measure you can take is to diversify into many niches
No one can assure when a site will recover
I cannot just diversify into multiple niche because of the domain name but I am now diversifying in multiple sub niches.

Are G updates still a thing? Seems like it's just more ads and zero click searches?

it takes time to recover, for mysite, in the previous year, 2022, oct, got hit and lost 90% traffic. Back then it had 2k seo visitors a day, 10k vistors in discovery, but the site went down. Now affter this update, it gets back, not fully recovered but has a sudden increase. I really think that the system would shut you down because of the wrong things you've done for one year, then release you out.

This is exactly what the information page explains. Just because we've made changes doesn't mean we're going to go back up immediately. They say it can take from a few weeks to a few months......

1 week of daily drops in the stats and this morning it's back up to the initial level... I'm remaining cautious until it's over.
In any case, he's going to stick a few more behind us ;)

i think google search is rubbish bin because all the result show garbage content with redirect link. wkwkwkkw

It's been like this since the September update... we're hoping things will change with the October update.
