    Hi everybody!

I am a sucker for new tools. I must have tried most of the SEO tools that came on the market during the past 15 years.

Yet, I almost always end up getting rid of them. They either don't work as advertised or I find not using them regularly enough to justify their (often exorbitant) price tag.

When I look back, the tools that I tend to use regularly (i.e. almost daily) are usually those that are free. Most often I use these two:
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Search Console
Question: What tools do you use daily? And, what are you using it for?

Thanks, but are you using all of them? And, are you using them regularly? I own or owned most of the tools you listed. Yet, I never needed to use most of them.

The point of this thread is not to come up with an endless list of SEO tools. The point is to identify the most used ones.

I'm a big believer in on page seo and not just having a good link profile, I like being covered in all fronts.

for on page seo I use Screaming Frog, which if you ask me is awesome and it helps me fix all the issues on my site.

Tools != SEO ... tools are largely situational or tactical. I use all those tools several times a year. Other than the Google stuff the ONLY tool I use for SEO nearly everyday is Excel and that is because my SEO methodology is data driven and uses a lot of statistical methods. And that isn't an endless list... that's a list of just the good free stuff (tools and reference).

Most Used Tool for SEO = Excel

I use our own tool Mondovo every single day But it is also one of the cheapest options available and has most features you'd require in an SEO tool.

That's exactly my point, too! Tools are mostly tactical. Of course, when one is starting a new project, many of the listed tools are extremely helpful. But, once the project is already up and running, the day-to-day activities do not require a huge arsenal of tools. Personally, my work relies mostly on data from Google Analytics and Google Search Console (via SearchConsoleHelper.com). For working with the data, what I cannot accomplish inside SearchConsoleHelper, I do in Excel.

Btw, care to share how you are using Excel?

Well, since you started with Google Analytics and Search console – obviously these two.

Also, Yandex Metrica and Yandex Webmaster, for same purposes, because we have a 60/40 distribution of users here, so I optimize for 2 engines at a time.

Serpstat, daily for rank tracking and not daily for keyword research, backlinks and all that.

Netpeak spider for sitemap generation and crawling for errors. Not daily but quite often.

Ahrefs and SEMrush have really stepped their game up. If you have multiple site/clients and the budget, I would recommend either one. They both have free trials.

Screaming Frog is still one of my favorite tools. For crawling bigger sites, Xenu is a good option if you don't have a paid version of Screaming Frog.

I use a lot of Google products. Analytics and Search Console of course. I use Trends and Keyword Planner for picking new targets.

Another random tool I like to use for research is AnswerThePublic.com. DomainLevelMetrics.com is a pretty cool tool that is cheap for tracking success/growth.
