That document is a really good read; I'd encourage anyone that is in our business that has sites that are affected by rankings in Google to take the time to read it. It is no short read and might be a little boring at times but well worth the time and effort.

Start analyzing deeply your backlinks, footprints, there must be something you overlooked , cause i find this really strange and i don't think it's a manual review of the site !

Before I started SEO I applied to work for the companies that perform those checks and read the entirety of that manual. I remember they wanted to keep it hush hush but at the time I didnt understand why.
Don't quote me on this because I cant remember -- but those manual reviewers are not trained to sniff out PBNs.
They are three big companies that hire for this work and what you are primarily looking for is quality on a webpage and relevance to topic. You assign a score and either someone checks it after or not. But nothing related to PBN was ever mentioned in my training.
I received manual penalties on several sites today. And obviously rankings tanked. A couple sites I haven't built links to in a few years -- probably since first penguin.
One site had backlinks from 10 domains. A total of about 40 backlinks. And it got a manual penalty.
I hate google.

This is weird. Some footprint must exist for multiple sites to get hit like this. Ever purchased any services or links or was this all manual work?

Have you checked if you lost some of your old existing backlinks? This could also be a problem.
I wonder the same thing.
