If we have one keyword, for example, "the best foundation" and a few other longer keywords, such as "best foundation for oily skin", "best foundation for dry skin", " best foundation for coverage" and etc. What strategy should be used? And for what keywords did he produce content in the first place?

To cover the topic in details, you should produce content for all. (depending on the context)

Which one should I produce content for first? Long tail keyboards or shorter keyboards?

Long-tail keywords, bcoz it is easy to rank on google or long-tail keywords are less difficulty.

Do competition research. Go for the keyword first that seems easy to rank.
However, you should write articles for all those keywords along with informational contents to help with getting topical authority.

I have been studying about SEO these days and I think you should select long tail keywords with low competition and low KD.. Once your website starts ranking for these keywords, jump to long tail keywords.

What do you think ?

First create a content for the building stone content, pillar cluster

Longtails keywords. But the keywords you mentioned in the post they still hard ones to rank for the new site.

So it's better to do competitor analysis. Find those competitors which have low authority but their traffic is good.

You say I should create content first for long tails and then for a shorter word?

Depending on the search volume, you could answer all of them in one post or interlink each post
Longtails kws are usually less competitive as they're more specific

Long-tails keywords.

Then, after you publish content for short ones, revisit the long-tail content and add links to short-tail ones. Even better not just links but also text around it. Search engines will love that!

What is Surfer SEO? Can you explain more?

It helps you to generate the KWs with your content. In the SEO industry, this is a popular tool.

Focus on the longtail keyword first will be more effective. And then go for short keywords.

You can also interlink the related article, so the user stays longer on your site.

Your target keyword is commercial in nature.

Generally speaking, when you mention "best" in a keyword, people would look for some sort of review or at least a product comparison chart.

I would suggest that if you're targetting such highly focused commercial keywords, you must also have a lot of informative keywords like "how to do something" and "what is something."

Because this way, your informative, long-tail content can help improve your overall domain authority so you can have a fighting chance when it comes to more competitive keywords.

Informative content goes a long way in helping you win low-hanging fruit when it comes to keyword competition.

These are long-tail keywords that have less competition.

And if you rank for these, then you may get enough domain authority to give your more competitive commercial-focused, target keywords a better shot at top ranks.
