Every month, I spend a significant amount of money on links for various projects.
It is generally best to use different vendors, to ensure diversified referring domains.
Some months I land on great vendors with ideal properties, and other months it's a battle to avoid or recover from landing on a deceptive vendor.

I'd like to suggest that better standards be implemented for SEO link-building marketplace vendors.
Concealing networks and site lists seems to be a tool for selling people garbage links on a regular basis, and it's getting really old.
Sometimes samples seem to be okay, and other times it's like the vendor doesn't even know that their asset has 200 referring domains to 100k total backlinks.

Most assets I evaluate have inflated link metrics, which seem to be designed to deceive buyers, and they also tend to have zero ranking keywords.
I firmly believe that at-least a very small number of ranking keywords, or perhaps a more natural referring domain to backlinks ratio, should be required, in order for a site or service to be featured in the marketplace.
Maybe that means an encrypted database that automatically verifies link metrics, or maybe a better system for evaluating vendor reputation, I dunno... but something needs to be done.

Just this evening, I messaged more than several VIP vendors, and all of the samples provided were horribly spammed-out.
The quality is often times as bad as it gets, without belligerently being a web 2.0 link-drop into foreign porn content. :o
I'm fully aware of the hurdles for making this a reality, but the marketplace still desperately needs better standards in terms of vendor and asset quality.

I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Now, it's just a matter of administration acknowledging the problem, and putting a plan into action.
It would be nice if we could see something implemented in the not-too-distant future, but in any case... thanks for your consideration!

Hey - Thanks for your thoughts on how marketplaces should run. Whilst interesting - this isn't how we run ours. The marketplace is run under a very specific set of rules laid out here https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-black-hat-world-marketplace-rules.1295700/ with thousands of products listed in the marketplace every single one of them has been tested by our team to ensure they can be delivered as advertised. We reject around 50% of the marketplace threads we receive on grounds of the seller being unable to deliver as advertised.

These rules mean we test the services as they are presented to us in the listing and you should ensure that the listing you're buying from is as per your requirements. IE if you find someone selling DA10 backlinks then you ask them to deliver DA90's in a side deal be aware that we've not tested for that. If you're looking for something specific for example
I firmly believe that at-least a very small number of ranking keywords, or perhaps a more natural referring domain to backlinks ratio, should be required, ............
then you need to find a vendor that can deliver as per your requirements, I totally put my hands up that this isn't currently the easiest thing to do when looking for sellers to match your specific criteria - but if you do have such specific criteria may I suggest our Want to Buy section. An area that many of the sellers on the marketplace follow, ask them to share their MP thread with you and if it fits your requirements then great you're in business. If not then do your own Due Diligence and decide if that is the seller you want to work with based on their posts around the forum, engagement in threads outside of their own marketplace thread and generally if it's someone you want to do business with.

If a seller hasn't listed your specific requirement in the thread then you need to ask them if they can deliver as per your requirements. If not then don't buy from them, it's that simple. IF however you did decide to buy from them and you're then sold something that's not as advertised we have the shitlist in place to stop those bad sellers. The sellers in the BHW marketplace are probably more deeply reviewed here than on any other similar platform if you're not getting what you ordered then you have a right to complain. If you are expecting more than you ordered, then you're an optimist my friend and more power to you.

The new marketplace will provide more choices and ways for you to define the people / products that you feel fit your way of working, along with many other great benefits that we're working hard to release. But as with all things in life if you go to buy beer in your local, it says beer on the label, you put beer in your shopping cart, you pay beer prices - don't be surprised when it tastes of ..... well beer. ;)
