Many SEO's claims to rank high in Google you must do this do that, links, web 2.0 and much more. But all you really need is good content! (I said this to get a response from WS123n or w/e) lol...
But yeah save today I have been going after low competition keywords and not linking my articles for Bitcoin Spies. I currently do news links on 3 websites, but they are just direct plain links to show people the news the rest is just not linked at all basically. I do SEO Optimized content and titles that are exact keywords. That is what I do to rank in Bing/Yahoo and even Google.
I rank currently on a 40-50 day old site for many terms with no advanced linking strategy for this website as I do not put out links most of the time unless to drive traffic to a page not to promote it in the search engines. There are SEO's that will say this is old news but I see tons of newbies not doing it like this and it really is easy to gain rankings this way with a keyword optimized article I am not saying put the keyword before the reader just make sure the reader and the search engine both see value in your post. Putting things like !@#$%^&*()-_';[] in your post will often hinder your search engine ranking. Because truthfully no one searches it most the time especially with auto complete google has it doesn't add symbols like these.
On a side not finding good domains can be fun and profitable too,
local domains are a big industry and you can drive leads at expensive keywords easily just by purchasing an EMD domain(exact match domain) for a keyword while Google says "We don't count it that much anymore" my domain Bitcoin Spies ranks for Bitcoin Spies page #1 within 30 days? Yeah, apperently it still works and the same for Yahoo and Bing.
If you would like a domain in a high niche area or to get an exact match domain let me know by PM I will send you one that has high CPC for fun so you can buy it or whatever just for fun this is not a sales thread. I do this for a client of mine and he is purchasing good domains that other people have bids of $200 or $300 on Godaddy Auctions. (not those domains that are bid on but of similar quality).
