SEO is DEATH - LEO is the future

LLM Engine Optimization -
This is basically how you optimize for LLMs to find you.
Spoiler - is the same shit as (as far as i know) to SEO but on bing search.

I know bing search is what most LLM use behind scenes to recommend products to users.
Each big tech company has its own medium tho - twitter for grok, bing for chat gpt, google for gemini

- Not sure what anthropic uses - anyone knows?
I also assume bing search ranks the same way google, it does?
LLM Engine Optimization = SEO for AI models like ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini.

What LLMs use:

  • ChatGPT → Bing
  • Grok → Twitter/X
  • Gemini → Google
  • Claude (Anthropic) → No search, uses internal/trusted data

Bing SEO vs Google SEO:
  • Bing likes exact match keywords
  • On-page SEO matters more
  • Less focus on backlinks

Haha, I see what you're saying! LEO does feel like a spin-off of SEO, just geared toward LLMs and their search preferences. And yeah, Bing does seem to be the go-to for a lot of LLMs, though it’s still kinda mysterious how each company fine-tunes their rankings. As for Anthropic, not sure what their deal is, but I'm guessing they have some kind of secret sauce. Bing and Google definitely have their own quirks in ranking, though—it’s like comparing apples and oranges at this point!

I have been exploring LLM Engine Optimization lately, and you're right it overlaps a lot with traditional SEO principles.
Clear structure, factual accuracy, and high topical relevance seem to matter more now, especially for responses generated by models like ChatGPT.
From what I’ve seen, Bing powers many LLMs, but the ranking behavior isn’t identical to Google.
Bing tends to reward exact matches more and gives stronger weight to keyword placement in headings.
