SEO is dead? This thing might replace it!

I'm already implemented to my latest project latest rich snippet optimizations, like FAQ (that's ai insights, each product call takes money to AI company, processing time on server) rich snippets this kind stands out instantly. And there much more you should know with what to feed with, if it shoes you need data like size, seasoning, used, new, brand reputation, explains like that 43 size and may not fit your 43. Tough times, but its already here, trust me.

If some domainer is watching thia thread, he should book all domains related to SAO.

SEO is not evolving into SAO, search is being absorbed into AI, like a black hole, and monetization is being sucked in with it. As I've put it elsewhere, SEO's stature has been shrunken by the new tech changes, like the horse and buggy was increasingly replaced by the auto. SEO still works or functions, like you would if you were shrunken down in size into a 3 foot hobbit, but you would still be half as effective.

Basically, Google has decided to move towards taking the content made by independent sites, building its own AI content and videos, then shunting traffic to its own AI snippets that will point to itself, not you. Then it will monetize it get all the revenue for itself, not the independent sites trying to profit from Adsense and such. Here's one video showing how this is affecting the web:

IMO, SEO is slowly dying — or at least transforming . I’ve been thinking about what could replace it or how it might evolve.

In the near future, I believe SEO (Search Engine Optimization) will shift into SAO — Search Assistant Optimization.

What is SAO?
Well, we already have ChatGPT sitting at #6 globally among all websites in the world, with 5.5 billion visits according to Similarweb stats. It already has internet access and can perform research for users. So I think the future of “search” will be driven by AI assistants, not traditional search engines.

That means our new goal will be to optimize content for tools like ChatGPT and other AI assistants — not just Google. That’s what I call SAO.

It’s coming. Or maybe it's already here.
What do you think? Does this make sense, or does SAO already exist under a different name?
Yes, you narrate it properly.
I would like to add one more thing that is already took place and that GSEO (Generative Search Engine Optimization).

I am learning it, I will share once my study will be mature enough.

Absolutely makes sense. SEO is evolving, not dying — optimizing for AI assistants like ChatGPT (SAO) is the next logical step. It's about providing clear, authoritative, and structured content that AI can understand and recommend. Future-ready strategy!

Excellent bit of clickbait. Saw it coming from a mile away. To even qualify for the attention of assistants you're still going to have to rank SEOly, so it's all a circular argument in the end, imo.
Only difference will be that instead of optimizing for one or two giant search engines we will do it for multiple smaller ones.
Exactly this. It's just diversifying the audience you're catering to.
focused on structured, well-labeled data that language models can easily digest
Mate, that's already how it is. Everyone has the attention span of a cricket and it's only going to get worse.
This kind of post is really getting out of control, I think this is the 4th or 5th post about ''seo is dead'' this week, everyday someone is posting about it
Bc people keep engaging with them, I guess.

Do note that ChatGPT and other such tools use Google to get their data. So ultimately your data is just presented in a different way along with several other people's data...

would transform but i think not a concerning point now

All AI companies consume human written content to train their models. SEO and human written content is not going anywhere, it will just keep getting competitive. Because if Google was to completely kill organic reach, they'll stop getting new content.
You got a point that Google cannot completely kill organic reach, but the room for it is getting much smaller everyday, and I cannot find any hope for my informational keywords anymore.
even news is getting summarized by AI almost immediately, very frustrated

What would be the best ways or steps to go about doing SAO? Or just approach it like normal SEO?

This is a compelling point. I likewise believe that optimizing for AI assistants will emerge as a vital component of digital marketing. With more users turning to tools like ChatGPT for responses, content creators need to contemplate how their content can be found by these systems.

I think AI will read blogs and count them as facts. so maybe people talking about your project it what gonna bring it up
