Hello!

I just started this thread because I wanted to know what the most experienced people here at BHW think about the future of SEO. There are lots of thing changing, I see data science getting really popular each day and a lot of people say that SEO will no longer be as easy as it is today ( regarding technical knowledge of couse ). What are your thoughts about the future of the industry?

SEO will last as long as Search Engines last, search engines will last as long as internet last, internet will last as long as man lasts! So SEO will last as long as man lasts

Only the competition will grow!
:D

^^ It will just become more difficult to game, but the results will also be more relevant for consumers on the flip side. This is both good & bad, but def. more difficult for all companies/affiliates trying to be #1 in the search results. Companies/affiliates will be rewarded for really worthwhile content more than they would be otherwise, but the ones who have mediocre content will earn less. That has pretty much been the direction.

10 Years: The Google Mind Reader update

Saturday 10:02 - BlackHatWorld flooded with threads asking if SEO is dead

20 Years: The Google Time Machine update

The way search engines are changing SEO is changing, things that use to work in 2000 dont work any more. I dont consider what we do as blackhatseo there are some real cruel people out their stealing private information ever wondered why a PPI networks pays you that much to get a fuckin tool bar installed in someone's browser? no matter how big of guru you are untill you have your own product your are working for someone who is making 100x more money then you. I dont know. Yes i do agree with you SEO will become harder its always about thinking outside the box and paying attention to small details. Do as many case studies as you can and invent your own link scheme SEO is not data entry any more.

I think SEO will help people find things for other 200 years!

Today, the only real obstacle to Google is Facebook and for those who believe that SEO will die because Facebook will win this battle, I can asnswer saying that Facebook can't help people to fix real problems!

It will be probably like scratching your head and the computer will read your thoughts and serve you results. The computer will probably be a chip in your head.
At least that's how I imagine it :)

SEO has been dead since it started and nobody knows when it will be alive again. -_-

If we believe what Ray Kurzweil claimed, then google will have AI that surpasses human intelligence in ~20 years. I think this will change SEO entirely, as they'll have the capability to find out the content that is best aligned to scientific consensus. In essence, I think nothing will be stronger than links from quality peer review journals, and the relevancy, accuracy and impact of your content will have higher importance than ever.

But, that's just speculation, in reality I have no clue. :)

warm regards,
neocortx
