SEO for Restaurant Software Vendor site

I am sorry I am new and I may be asking too much.

Me and my Wife are going to start a Restaurant Hardware selling site to sell Restaurant POS hardware with Freely available/Open source Restaurant Point of Sale (To give an example, Floreant POS / http://floreantpos.com and OpenBrravo ( http://openbrravo.com ). My target clients are fine dining and cafe owners. As I have checked its very expensive to give advertisement in Google for "Restaurant" Keyword.

There are so many brands and models available that its tough to focus on particular keyword. Anyone can suggest a way would be appreciated.

ok this one is a tough one, just setting up a website and buying clicks won't be profitable. at least not in the start up phase.

POS hardware is only needed once every 3-5 years per restaurant,it's not a consumer product. But those Systems need maintenance, might think about offering that additionally.

I think it' s best to do direct selling for this.

I wold suggest to set the website up with good information on the hardware and software, and on the services provided, and no price. Try to get a lead list of all restaurants in your area and and call them up. Ask them if they have POS. If they have one, how old is it, when would the shopowner buy a new one, do they need maintenance?

If they don't have one then try to sell the owner one.
