SEO for a Very Common Keyword

Hey Guys,

Hope you all are doing great!

Here is my question:

Suppose I am seller of iPhones, and I want to rank for the keywords iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. Then, what approach should I follow and what keywords should I choose.

Share your thoughts.

I know these have keywords have a huge competition. But, still I am looking for the ways to carry out the things.
 
Its going to be massive competition. Check some of the top results in ahrefs and see what their backlink profiles are like, then you know what you are up against.

As above, PBNs, guest posts, links on some big authorities in the niche. Stuff like that.
 
I'd build a nice, beefy site around that keyword and rank it over time using relevant, strong links. It's going to take a while, though.

* Social Media Promotions

* Niche Guest Posts with high traffic blogs

Choose low & medium competitive keywords. Also use Generic, Broad Match, Long Tail Keywords.

Can't go for low or medium competitive keywords because the keywords are iPhone 6 and iPhone 7..

Yeah Right, Select your target country then use Long tail and Generic keywords else you have huge budget for #1 with PPC this keywords.

I am not looking for paid advertising. I am just looking for the free stuff.
 
Follow Diversified Links Strategy (along with long tail keywords for these high competitive keywords - to start with):

Unique Descriptions for Bookmark and Tier 2 Submissions
Unique Blogs Writing and Submissions
Edu Links
Tier 2 Submissions
Profile Links
8-10 Types of LSI Keywords
High DA Blogs Submissions (DA upto 99 and TF upto 28)
Tier 2 Submissions of High DA High DA Blogs
Social Media Submissions of High DA Blogs

SEO Strategy:
  • 15% Main Keywords
  • 40-45% LSI (8-10 Types of LSI we use)
  • Rest - Naked URLs/Branded Names

You do realize that PBNs and such require money too right? It will be cheaper to target related keywords with PPC compared to SEO just because you will need such a huge volume of capital to carry this out.

Impossible for high competition kw's. Find longer tail and go for specific phrases or you won't rank at all.

The logic is very simple: if you could rank for iphone 6 for free, why wouldn't your competitor? There are only 10 spots on the first page.

Dreaming is good, I think. If you have dreams then only you try to achieve something.

Rather than telling me that I can't do this, we should focus on searching for new techniques or ways to get such things done. Because if you are a marketer, you may face such situation in near future..
 
Build a nice and big web site, It can be mobile price comparison site or mobile eCommerce site but it should be much bigger. Then start promoting it via white hat SEO, give it 100s high authority backlinks, 1000s of related guest posts links, keep working same for next 1-2 years and you will get it on first page.. Don't target only for these 2 keywords cause once you make a bigger website for the mobiles then you will get all other traffic for other phone brands too.
