SEO Basics

Hey Guys, I need to get my posts up so I'm going to make posts asking my most important questions. I want to get 7 new ones in today as practice for working quickly.

This one is centered around SEO for static sites

Can you guys point me in the right direction for learning materials on basic SEO, I only know about the tags and I have played around with the google keyword tools but i'm still not sure of what exactly to do.

Any tips hints and tutorials (PDF form preferred) on SEO that you guys can help me out with?

To be successful at SEO or any online venture, choose a topic/niche that's already of interest to you. For example, don't choose a niche just because it has a high CPC or because you think it will make you tons of money. Choose something that's preferably of interest to you and something that you're already educated on which will help you in creating quality and unique content for your site(s). For the Keyword/AdWords tool, this is beneficial for finding domain names or as many call them EMD's (Exact Match Domains) or the exact keyword you're targeting being contained within the domain itself. Many are disregarding EMD's now but as long as you write quality content and build good links and work on building authority, they can still be worth quite a bit. I could go on and on but the bottom line is to do what you like best, do ALOT of research and don't give up. In the beginning, you won't earn much but over time with dedication, hard work and self education with trial and error, before you know it you'll be earning in no time!
