SEO Advice Needed

Hi everyone ? I haven?t been very active on BHW, but I?ve long been admirer of everyone?s success and stories on BHW. I run a business that is probably much different and more boring than other people on this site. It?s a PEO (professional employer organization) that sells b2b workers? comp, payroll, hr administration, etc.. I have a basic wordpress site that has not been optimized for SEO outside of some basic wordpress plugins. Our website only gets a few visits a day and we need that to improve dramatically. We are not ranked and most of our competitors don?t appear to be ranked either.

My understanding is that white hat is way to go if you want to truly grow your business so we are looking into hiring a company to do that. My main question, is it safe to combine white hat with black hat techniques? I obviously wouldn?t want to spend money on a ?quick fix? if it was counterproductive in the long run. I?m looking for some unbiased advice on whether it?s generally a good/safe idea, and if so, what SEO package(s) offered here on bhw would best meet our needs. All the SEO packages seem great, get OP approved, and have fantastic reviews. Thanks in advance everyone!

There are so many providers on the forum, go for the reputed ones. Read the reviews, if you are looking for a solid whitehat service I believe a user named Leith provides something of that nature.

You are a Red Sox fan but I'll offer some advice for you anyway. I do a fair amount of Local SEO for businesses, mainly in the Jacksonville Area, but do have a presence in other parts as well. I'm assuming you are a local business doing business with other local or regional businesses.

You want to stay WH as it is presented to most people. Nothing aggressive like a zillion links to your site or anything that is not natural. You want visibility in sites like Merchant Circle, Yelp and such (citations).

You want a social presence as well as that drives the train in SEO to a certain extent.

Your site needs to be tight and reflect your target market also... there are really a bunch of things you need to be sure of to get the ball rolling in the right direction.

There are a number of things you need to do for your site, but unless your customer is limited to a specific geo area, local may not be the way to go with your SEO. This is especially true of B2B providers.

Not all search terms will trigger the local search algorithm. Depending on what your keyword research shows, you may need to do SEO for the organic algorithm.

Unless you have some keywords that throw the local algo, taking that approach will be a supplementary SEO goal. There is no sense concentrating on the local algorithm if your search terms are global in nature.

What region?

I've always found it better to analyse multiple competitors and find out what they have in common, then I try to copy that or add my own twist on it if possible.

There are lot of tools in the market for SEO, you can do by yourself, try seoprofiler, lxrseo and many more (DIY SEO TOOLS Google it)..you will find few good tools.
