Ubersuggest is cheaper and simpler. It gives you all the basic SEO resources, such as site audits, link analysis and research on keywords. The free edition is also a lot less limited than SEMrush. Nonetheless, SEMrush has many more marketing features to enhance the social media, PPC, content, and PR of an organization.

I suggest you browse how Semrush, Ubersuggest calculate their KD.


For Ahref, it's about the number of backlinks to each individual page on Google's first page.

If I can recall, Semrush is about the number of sites RANKING or Competing for that particular KW.

I don't know about Neil Patel Uber..

But I for sure will go with Semrush over any other, Ahref is cool too, I currently use Ahref and it kinda works.

But again, I feel you should manually do your Key Word Difficulty research, just get clues from them SEO tools and get on the SERP page and see for yourself.

I sometimes use the "allintitle" operator and it works for me.

Never ever settle for SEO tools KWs.

Keyword difficulty depends on hundreds of factors. Since each metric is different from one another, you will always get different numbers. try to choose keywords after crosschecking and learn to have a quick idea after searching them on google. That's the best way to find real keywords with least seo difficulty.

To be honest, you really can't depend on these. I suggest you check the competition manually using Ahrefs.
