Hello guys I have an interview about a SEM position but in the description it says the role is focusing on
facebook ads/goodle adwords campaigns. They also ask about google analytics expertise! Any thoughts what I will be asked and what should I do to impress them?

Any help appreciated,

Thanks!

Interview for SEO
Description says SEM/Social Marketing
Also needs a statistician

You better be prepared with Plastic Surgery and Astrology guides as well.

or apply for the HR posting so you can recruit the right person with the right knowledge.

But SEO and SEM are related the problem is I don't know the depth of expertise from each that they will need in order to plan my answers accordingly. They need more facebook/adwords shit or seo audit stuff?

SEO and SEM are two different things. You can do SEO with zero knowledge about SEM and vice versa.

Let's come back to the question.

From what I see, it looks like they want you to manage their Facebook and Adwords campaigns and use google analytics to track conversion. As simple as that.

I can't really type each and every questions and it's answers so I suggest you to learn how it's done and what'd you do if it was your company and you're doing it all yourselves for your business.

Hit Udemy and complete all the free courses that are related to Facbook/Adwords Advertising and Google Analytics. That should give you enough in-depth information to crack the interview.

As for how to impress them, just say @SpoonFeeder got me covered and show them my BHW profile.

Seriously, they best way to impress someone is to do/say/show/demonstrate something they've not seen/heard before.

Research the company. You should assume that they want someone who understands Facebook Ads, Google Adwords, and SEO enough to turn a decent profit.

@SpoonFeeder is right about impressing them with something they haven't seen before. This might sound difficult, but if it's a small local company, chances are they've hired mediocre IMers in the past. An alternative to the Udemy courses is to procure all of the certifications offered by Google through their Partners program. They're free and you can easily search for the answers whilst taking the test (or pay someone here to take it fot you). Here's a screenshot from my Google Partners profile just so you know what it looks like. You can even link to your Google Partners page on your résumé.

Additionally, if you have a portfolio (e.g., your own websites or your PPC account history), you can use those to demonstrate your skills. Doing some ORM for your name couldn't hurt, either.

Hey guys I got an update I will go tomorrow in their office to do a seo audit kind of test and then discuss results with my potential boss. Any idea how should I prepare? I know that they use Ruby on rails as main platform for everything but I dont know if and what SEO tools they use.

Call them back and ask them what kind of tools they use?

If they're going to ask you to perform an SEO audit, create a checklist consisting of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO elements. From there, practice auditing some of the local business websites. You can also send the reports you create to the businesses and offer to do SEO for them for some extra cash.

I know there a few members here who have been employed by SEM agencies, so perhaps they would be able to give you some additional tips.

Just be cool as some one said.SEM is more social related and is best to show from my point of view how you will optimize their Fan page and create FB Group supporting their channels of leads and with that to get more followers and with that clients.
