Selling Via PM?

I have seen many people banned for "Selling via PM." Does that mean if someone messages me via PM offering me something for sale in relation to a thread I posted, they are risking being banned? Similarly, if I decide to take them up on their offer and buy from them in that PM, can I be banned? Is such a sale also subject to buyer protections, as in if I get ripped off, can I still create a Shit List thread? Just curious. Thanks!

I think it's more aimed at those that just go around selling through pm, so they pm you totally out of the blue.

Reported a few myself, when I've been contacted trying to sell me something I never asked for out of the blue.

If the person is Jr. VIP it is safe to assume he is not going to scam you. Don't buy from Non Jr. VIPs.

Yeah don't assume that, only takes $160 to become jr vip. If there setting to scam Many people it's an investment to them.

I just make sure I scroll through there posts, then I know if there genuinely or not.

If you post a hire a freelancer or want to buy thread, a qualified seller may contact you via PM if they have what you are looking to purchase.

If a nonqualified seller contacts you (someone without a paid membership) it would benefit the forum if you did not purchase from them and reported them.

Should one buy from a nonqualified seller, and not get what they paid for, there is no BHW recourse as you violated the terms of service.
