    Hiyo! Planning on selling some personal items on ebay so I can make enough money to help myself in my online career. Do any of you have tips for someone like me to make quick sales and hopefully earn plenty of money? I would appreciate the advice!

    This is based on my personal experience selling on eBay since 1999.

    1. ALWAYS under promise and over deliver. Never promise something that you have no power to control yourself.

    2. Be aware of ebay/paypal rules so you don't get scammed. Remember, if you don't know the rules as well as the scammers, you are going to lose any disputes.

    3. Know and research the product you are selling, especially if you're trying to get away with selling VERO stuff.

    4. Take good pics and write effective titles to listings. Good pics and titles drive 90% of sales.

    5. Half your buyers will be total idiots. Life is too short dealing with idiots. Just blacklist them and move on.

    6. There is the right way to sell on eBay, and there is way to make money quick.

    7. Always work 20% into your cost for eBay/paypal fees and returns.

    8. ALWAYS be pro-active when there is a problem. Don't let the customer find out there's a problem by the package not arriving on time.

    9. Never be lazy when it comes to shipping or answering customer questions.

    10. Always ship with tracking info if you want to keep scamming to a minimum.

    I like the last part. Where seller have zero protection against:

    1. Payments from stolen PP/eB accs;
    2. Payments from stolen CCs added into PP acc (and after few days/weeks - chargeback);
    3. Payments from stolen Bank accs (it's called Lastschrift and PP is used just for gateway; scammer only enters bank code + date of birth, and that's it - transactions goes; and chargeback after few days from the bank);
    4. Unauthorized transactions 1.5 years later for payments made for some goods (in or outside of eB);
    5. Payments made with stolen smartphones who have downloaded and attached eB/PP apps and used (from the original owner) too much, so the hijacker order goods from his phone, his cookies, his browsing, etc.;
    6. Original owners of PP/eB accs who use proxies/VPNs/TOR to pay using their own accs, and after few days claim their money back (as "unauthorized transactions"; so PP don't see their original IP, nor original cookies, they use other Chrome profile ofc);
    7. - 20. - so many other ways that I even don't want to write. Sick of 'em.

    If people really want to keep scamming to minimum - then humans not needed to be born. Animals don't scam each other, right?

    many of these problems can be avoided by only shipping to paypal verified addresses

    PP Verified:

    [IMG]

    Unauthorized account activity (reversal): 39 mins after the transaction (and the good already shipped).

    I can't know if this was 1. or 6., or some other. Money returned, good shipped/used, money for the item - lost.

    GG.

    There is a form at the post office you can fill out to reverse packages. It works most of the time as long as it doesn't get to the final delivery person.

    Different markets, different post offices, different systems. Some things works for X regions, some things doesn't work in Y and Z regions. Nothing new, tho.

    Thanks for the recommendation.
