I have a few accounts that I am thinking of selling on ebay and I am just looking for advice to protect myself from paypal chargebacks.

I know paypal usually rely on shipping and tracking info to prove that the buyer has received the item but this is obviously not possible with a digital item. Anyone have some tips on the safest way to go about it?

From what I understand selling IG accounts on ebay is not technically allowed even though they have a lot of accounts for sale at the moment. So in that case would the dispute always go in favor of the buyer?

Some tips on the best way to hand over the account after being paid would be great as well.

Thanks

Why ebay? There's a lot of places where you can sell your accounts, including BHW, of course, you have to pay for marketplace seller fee first, but if you have good and big accounts and consider selling them for a nice fee (couple of K's) then you can sell them here. There's no better place for that.

Just make sure you read marketplace rules... I don't want you to get banned immediately after joining :)

wasnt even aware people sold that type thing on ebay.

They sell everything there :)

OP, you can write username and pass on paper, put it in envelope and deliver it to buyer so you have delivery proof :D

I think the same concerns apply almost anywhere when paypal or bank transfers are involved. Even if I sold somewhere else and the buyer opened a dispute or charged back their credit card I would most likely lose the case.

Ebay is just an easy solution for me as my accounts are a decent size but they have been inactive for a while and I am looking to get rid of them quickly.

I guess I'm just looking for some info on how I can prove that I delivered what was promised and prove that the buyer received their item in case of a dispute.

I did actually think of doing that, but they could still claim that the info was wrong so I don't know how I would get around that.

It's always a risk selling digital products with PP payments... Risk you got to take.

Maybe you can search for some websites that buy and sell IG accounts and have escrow service...

Yeh I looked into that already but I think it's much harder to find a buyer that way.

If I go to a site that buys accounts they would most likely offer me a shitty price because they have been inactive for a while.

paypals charge back policys on digital goods are very leanient. At worst I would just take all the funds out of paypal immediately after getting paid. Maybe tell the buyer to send as a gift payment.

For what I know you can ask to the buyer to wrote a note in paypal transaction like this:

Note: I have received a web service and I am totally satisfied, the same complied with all my expectations and I do not have any complaint or complaint about it, I am aware that this service does not have refund refunds according to the terms and conditions established by both parties.

You should send a receipt, with the username & password of the account to the buyer address. and then update with the tracking number.
For extra security you can record a video, of you, Login to your account with the pass/username that you have sent to your client.
I recommended you to read Digital goods policy at GayPal before jumping to this field.
But you have to remember: Selling digital goods at eBay is not a long-term business.
