Selling DVD Copies On eBay

I was able to make a killing for the past 2 months selling CLASS A DVD's. No Shit. I made close to 6 figures gross just doing this. The merchandise looked so real, it's just like how you would buy it at Walmart.

You also NEED to learn how to stay under the radar.

Ex.

1. Don't put down Region 0 on the DVD code as it will only fuck your listing up.. This is a give away that you're doing something naughty. If you're selling from the U.S. then write down region 1, etc..

2. Don't be too cheap. Study your competitors. If they're selling it for $109.00, sell it for $104.00.

3. Forget auction types, you're dropshipping, that means you make more money with every sale. Do 3-7 days Buy It Now listings. Make your money and disappear for a few days.

4. List 10+ Titles minimum. You're only paying ebay when you get a sale anyway.

Only catch is you better have a 6 month long account or longer and a 100+ positive feedback or else gaypal will hold your funds for 21 days. A work around for this problem is having your own merchant account.

I also built a dropshipping website exactly for this reason. Here it is for those who are still interested:

I believe I still have the best price compared to my competitors in the DVD dropshipping market.

Practice up on that sales letter. You share your almost 6 figure income recently on eBay selling fake DVDs, give some basic listing instruction and then pitch your own ONE DAY OLD dropshipping website which is pathetic for an almost 6 figure kinda guy selling movies.

I was born at night but it wasn't last night. Now that people can rent movies for a buck a night and burn them on almost any newer computer system with some bittorent software, the fake DVD business is about dead. The reward is very low for the risk involved. You might as well walk into a Bank and rob it to try and get some cash without getting caught. The Feds just picked up a Flea market vendor last year in our small town of 20k people. All it takes is a couple snitches and you're in deep shit.

Its all BS folks -

I don't need fucktards like you to believe me. And I'm not pitching my website either.

I said Almost six figures in 2 months GROSS. I didn't say t was six figures a month, although I'm certainly doing all I can to reach that. Learn to read.

This is my sales just last night on ebay, and if I may humbly add it's not even half the sales I get on weekends:

Yes my ds website is new, I put it up coz I figured I'll make more money with a lot of people selling on ebay getting more orders than selling it myself..

BTW, looks like you only know bits and pieces of the DVD business and you just want to rant about your bullshit. Sure looks like you haven't tried it at all.

To the people who want to make money, stay away from fucktards like this. Their negativity wouldn't help you and wouldn't pay your bills.

I met a guy outside my supermarket that sold them. It was a few years ago (before torrents), he wanted around $10 and it was obvious they weren't originals. I talked to him for a bit, but decided not to do any business with him. I might have bought one for a dollar or two, to save the the time of finding the file, and waiting for the dl. With $1 red box at all the super markets now, his only selling point would be that it wasn't out on dvd yet, but he didn't have many of those.

I have an ethical (and fear of getting caught) problem making a profit selling someone an illegal copy. However I have no problem with giving away free copies, only to friends now, and only if they bring an external drive over so they can get a bunch of stuff at once. i've gotten 2 DMCA notices They were a long time ago and it took them weeks after the offending transfer, my last room mate also got one, end of 09 I told him to keep his torrent share to 99%, he knew better too, just forgot to change the setting on a different program, his notice came the next day, so they are getting quicker.

Black Hat and ethics don't really go together. But it depends on your views. I have no problem taking advantage of big bad companies, but screwing over a mom and pop business, or a single person I could never do.

How can you do that? If you would want to do that on your own you need quite an expensive equipment like color laserprinter for covers, color cd printer etc.
And if you want to buy ready-made copied DVDs, where you could you get them? The copies which I have seen up to now are far away from original, just cover printed with inkjet printer and blank DVD .....

Its about a $400 startup investment. All you need is tayo yuden or verbatim hub printable glossy dvds and a printer that prints onto cds/dvds. The printer can be bought at bestbuy for around $130, and then just buy the generic ink online so u dont have to pay 100+ dollars for each set. U can find the labels online from various sources that have been photoshopped and rebuilt (not a shitty scan) so when u print them they look exactly like the originals. U can use glossy paper to make the dvd covers and buy the dvd cases online for around $2......i used to do this when i was a young kid and have since worked up to more legit sources of income.

They changed their price structuring. Items listed at less than $1 to start on regular auctions have no insertion fee anymore just final value.

DVD movies sales are expected to decline further due to online movies downlads and streaming movie services etc. etc

I buy boxsets in bulk from china & sell them through 7 ebay accounts, all with different names & locations, I hav set up to my paypal. I sell on two accounts a week and rotate them, I dont sell in auction, just 5 day buy now offers. If your selling a couple of hot products & you're priced well you can move everything you have quick & stay below anyones radar

funny thing is we have a big market to get pirated DVD's and CD's, there you can also get duplicate PS2, PS3, WII and even blue ray in like 50% of original price.

It honestly amazes me through what number of hooks, loops and great lengths of time, effort, and resources people will go through to make a few $ doing something illegal, where you have a lot of room to end up with a law suit, huge fine, or go to jail

I think if you can devote even HALF as much effort into a stable, legal, business model... you could make much more money long-term, with a lot less headache too.

Seriously... take drug dealers for example... dumb high school drop outs that rely on selling marijuana for their monthly rent. Hustling right? For fucks sake, you could be "hustling" selling PRINTERS (or anything for that matter) around the corner and make the same (if not more) amount of money.

Okay dad. I really hate posts like this. If are too afraid to do something, don't moralize to other people and try to dissuade them. You're just wasting your breath.

Also, your comment about selling drugs vs. printers is asinine. Illegal activity will always have larger profit margins (and seriously, drugs are an UNBEATABLE market) because it's riskier and there are therefore much less people doing it.

If crime didn't pay, there would be no crime. Not that I advocate illegal activities, but seriously, this is forum has "blackhat" in the friggin title. Take your sermons elsewhere.

My aunt, uncle, and cousins lived in Hong Kong for a couple years and they bought bootleg stuff ALL the time. My cousins still have dozens of bootleg GBA and DS games and probably hundreds of bootleg DVDs. My aunt said "Why would I pay full price when I can get the same thing for a fraction of that?"

It's funny how when something "bad" or "illegal" suddenly becomes very easy and low-risk, all it takes is a monetary incentive (even a relatively small one, like saving a few bucks on a video game) and most people simply stop caring. I agree completely with my aunt's thinking btw.

I have 7 eGay account, I sell boxsets on, linked to my GayPal. Some have too much feedback for me to stay under everyones radar, so I dont use them anymore. If I start dumping them (or put them aside)& create new accounts will it set anything off with Gaypal? Does anyone know what'll happen if I do this regularly(maybe two account a month)?

To be honest, selling Dodgy DVD's on Ebay is hardly rocket science and is basic dodgy market stall trading. However, If you sell to many you will end up getting sent down.

In the UK It's the sort of case the trading standards love to send to court. In the USA it constitutes both mail and wire fraud and will get you some serious time for a really small amount of cash!

In order to avoid getting caught you would need to ensure that 1) the financial information wasn't linked to you, 2) you left no electronic footprint that could be traced back to you and 3) that you left no fingerprints or DNA on the DVD the packaging or the wrapper.

If you can manage the 3 points above then you really ought to be doing something much more profitable. It really is a low rent crime

tickets4u is pretty much right. The only appeal of bootleg DVDs is that you can make them yourself with fairly basic equipment. If you're good enough at covering your tracks there are better ways to make money. That's not to say you can't make good money, I read somewhere (might have been this forum) about a couple in the UK who made 100,000 pounds a year doing this one day a week.

I've always wondered if cases like this in the US were regularly prosecuted as mail fraud. Technically mail fraud = using the mail for anything criminal or fraudulent, but that definition seems so loose as to be meaningless. According to wikipedia you can get charged with mail fraud without even USING the mail system, so long as the mail system is somehow involved that counts as mail fraud (i.e. selling an item and never shipping it still counts as mail fraud apparently). Most mail fraud cases I've heard of had to do with insurance scams and forgery and stuff like that, and very large amounts of money lost, enough to get the FBI involved and federal charges coming in.

Apparently it would constitute wire fraud too.

"Wire fraud, in the United States Code, is any criminally fraudulent activity that has been determined to have involved electronic communications of any kind, at any phase of the event."
