Security & Privacy Concerns Regarding Chrome

I have been using chrome since long and kinda addicted to it cuz of its great features. The Speed & Account Sync is very good as it sync all your data, history, passwords, bookmarks sync across all devices you use.

I used to use Firefox but due to its version change frequency and slow speed i switched to chrome long ago.

Now here is the questions I want to put into your consideration and get some insights from people who knows.

1. Isn't our habit / searches / history being seen by BIG G. Suppose I use BHW by chrome, isn't chrome flagging my ID as being an active user of such forums and tracking other details as well. Like which domains I have and what am I trying to do with regards to SEO by using which BH softwares? ...

Now this raises the Big question as If Chrome is tracking then sure they know what you are doing and what softwares you will use to seo. Don't they keep a special eye on this and single you out easily?

Same goes for Analytics.

Am I over thinking it or is it really something to think about and make rules when to use chrome.

I know VPN or TOR could do the job, but not as stable and convenient as chrome.

Just had these thoughts and now I am installing Firefox to give it another try again and wait for some good answers..

You're not overthinking it at all. Google does use Chrome as a massive data collection agent.

Can you link me to an article who explain all this or a post on the forum about it and also how and when did you learn this about Chrome ?

I know it's simple stuff, Chrome send data to google, if you blackhat, chrome send to Google Durrrrrr....

But I want your perspective on it.

Chrome has a url autosuggest feature which phones back to google every single url you visit, it then suggests new urls. You turn this off and it has 10 other similar functions, excuses it finds to phone all your activity back to google. Also, the web browser is a native app, it can access anything in your PC, and the googleupdate.exe process remains running as a service long after you turn off chrome..... If any of this happened 10 years ago it'd be called spyware, but somehow it became the norm to accept this much privacy invasion in recent years.

Google's "free" products are meant to sell ads, so they spy on regular folks in order to present relevant ads, but it's also used against SEO's, entire networks can be tracked and taken down if you use Chrome in your SEO work.

Are people seriously using Chrome for blackhat shit? Seriously?!

Stay away from Chrome, Firefox does the job.
