I just came across a post on boingboing to an article about captcha solvers. It's hilarious when you read the tone of these people and see how shocked they are that people are defeating captcha. The article is interesting though in that it discusses how much the people at the de-captcha services actually make...



If sort of drudgery sounds like easy money, take a moment to work out the math. Assuming that you can solve six CAPTCHAs per minute and work eight hours straight, you'd be able to solve about 2,880 puzzles each day. Even at the highest CAPTCHA solving rate, you'd only make $2.88 daily; at the lowest rate, you'd make just over a dollar a day.

I hope you are all making more money than that with whatever you need them to enter captcha's for!
