Scrutinize my Keyword Research Method

1. Moz Bar
2. Excel or google sheets
3. Keywords Everywhere Extension
4. Keyword Shitter
5. tor

1. Run shitter on tor after selecting the country in tor. (I use tor for running shitter as running it on my browser gives skewed results moreover i could get country specific results)
2. Get a seed word, put it in Keyword Shitter and run for an hour.
3. Copy all the keywords in the excel sheet, use [=IF(LEN(TRIM(A2))=0,0,LEN(TRIM(A2))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A2," ",""))+1)] formula to count no of words
4. filter by 2 words only > copy these as sub-niches
5. Select a sub-niche, place it in shitter and grap a ton of keywords
6. Copy them to excel, remove duplicates, remove bogus keywords like near me, brand names, country or city names (irrelevant).
7. Divide the remaining list based on intent > 3 tier system; product buy, blog or info or micro-niche
8. Place the lists in keyword shitter again and run keyword everywhere (country specific), export csv, copy the data to same excel file.
9. Filter the keyword by monthly searches less than 1000
10. Query each keyword with allintitle in google
11. take a look at PA, DA and confirm the intent
12. If the SERPS are dominated by High PA, High DA (>60 approx.) or boxes or other high authority sites, color code the box red.
13. If the SERPS have 3 or 2 low PA, DA sites and other High PA, DA then color code the box yellow
    
14. If the SERPS have low PA/DA, then color code the box green
    
15. Save the red, yellow and green in separate sheets.
16. Take the yellow list and sort by allintitle, start with lowest
17. Place these individually in keyword shitter to get 5-6 suggestions and then test these with keywords everywhere
18. I go on till i find low PA, DA long tail keywords or either the monthly search volume becomes zero (usually the first case)

Truthfully, keyword research is not an exact science as Google hides most of the important metrics. I use KWFINDER and the free section will get you started in the right direction. A good strategy is to find sites ranking for low competition keywords and then get your keywords from them.

Your method, in my opinion, is overkill, since most of the data is hidden by Google. Take whatever you get from Google keyword planner with a "grain of salt". Meaning, they lie, obfuscate, confuse and manipulate certain information to confuse backlink builders.

Also, people do not share keyword finding methods freely anymore, those days are long gone. You'll have to do your own testing to find what works for you. Search the forum for lengthy post about the right way to do keyword research.

I have already gone through a lot of keyword research method threads here. They are truly enlightening but except for a few most use paid tools. For me that is a limitation as I have no access to any kind of banking channel right now.
This method was devised after going through this forum but I have yet to test it in field. What I truly wanted to know is about the PA and DA checks that I do, how reliable are they as a few senior members stated that they always goes through back-link profiles which I am not doing?

Like I said before, you're overthinking this stuff. Keyword research is not an exact science and can be subjective due to Google limiting access to real search data. Another tactic I use is to look at the length of the articles of the sites on page one. Also, keep in mind that sites can hide backlinks from SEO link collection tools, which is why you might see a domain with low stats but high ranking. Try out the free keyword tool I suggested above and just get started.

I tried it, conflicting data but I believe that SERPs don't lie. Moreover, I forgot to mention that I look for consistency in results like consistent low PA/DA to determine a green keyword. The tool you provided is good but limited in searches (which it is supposed to be). Normally I have a scraped list of 1k and above. The problem with google keyword planner is that it is not updated for most keywords. keywords relating to iphone xr case shows 0 searches and I have a difficult time believing that.

Thinking of going with Ahrefs path. Time for fiverr grinding.

Check out "Google Trends" Iphone xr case. it takes time until new keywords are added to the keyword planner and besides, not all keywords find their way in the keyword-planner database.

if you want to know the approximate keyword search volume
then enter in the Google trends a keyword where you know the search volume and compare the data.

Example: Click here

The keyword "iphone cases 6s" get ~301000 Monthy Searches...
If you look at the graphs then you can assume that the keyword "iphone xr case" is often searched for.
