Scraped Content - Is it still working

Title says it all, is scraped (and if necessary spun) content working to rank web 2.0 sites, like T1 sites for links? I've been seeing a lot of tools like Rankwyz or FCS Networker using scraped content and people say they're using them say they're working well.

However, i don't know for sure and i have 2 concerns:
1) is scraped content good enough to rank ? with the right amount of links it probably is...
2) most importantly, is scraped content good enough to not get the web 2.0 sites deleted / suspended?

What do you guys think?

I don't think it's good enough to read, especially if the content has been scraped and spun over and over again from other folks in the same niche using these tools. When I was using SEnuke a couple of years ago yes that kind of garbage worked, but then the top 2.0 sites caught on and SEnuke lost a lot of power. Those other tools you describe I have never used but I'm assuming they are link building tools too.

If its been scraped and re spun and passes plagiarism checker then maybe.

Still works for a lot of people is you do it right. Using it for tier 1 is perfectly fine. $ site, I wouldn't but other people will disagree.

Of course OP as mentioned already if done right it can be perfectly fine for link building.. People need to remember Google is a machine tick the right boxes and it'll let things fly.. on a money site no as then you can come in to manual reviews and so on where it's harder to fly.

YES you can ABSOLUTELY use it AND YES you can use it on a money site, HOWEVER, if you are competing for high dollar/high comp. keywords then the answer is probably NO because your competitors will constantly report you and thus, you will get slapped when it's manually reviewed.

If you are chasing middle of the road and low hanging fruit, then the ONLY reason you will want good content is because you're trying to keep users coming back to the site and/or create and grow a mailing list. IF however, you are really only trying to get someone to click on "something", then you are wasting time and money with so called "good" content. I ROUTINELY get a CTR of 35-50%+ with "unique" but absolute SHITTY content that I guarantee you nobody reads. They do however click on the ads I present. Not one site that has this content has been penalized or manually reviewed. All the keywords generating traffic are lower to middle end keywords as far as difficulty goes.

Content is ONLY King when you are building an audience that you want to retain. To rank organically, LINKS are King, Queen, Prince, Princess and everything else you can think of. Links cure 99% of SEO problems. You want authority from some links and relevancy from others. Google is ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE NEAR being able to tell if content is "good" and they won't even come close to doing so anytime soon.

Don't take my word for it though. Go test it yourself and when you find out it's true come back and tell all the fools who believe the corporate google lies.

Scrape content works, you just need to use it the right way. It worked for me. It worked for others. So definitely, it will still work for you.

Thanks for the replies you guys, i wanted to start building a web 2.0 network and because it will hundreds of sites, content will be an issue.

My biggest concern is losing the web 2.0 sites due to the scraped content, i mean, in the case they get deleted or suspended. Coz in terms of ranking, i know for sure scraped content work just fine.

For a web 2.0 network I would not use real garbage content. You should certainly be able to use spun content though. Scrape articles you need and then spin them. Hint: You can mix paragraphs from articles to help you have fairly unique spun articles. Bottom line is that as long as your content reads OK, you should be fine with most web 2.0's. Of course you run the risk of having some canned. I would start small and over a wide number of web 2.0's so you get a feel for who is fine with it and if some don't like it. Find the ones who don't give you any crap and those are the ones that you build your network with. BUT, always be testing new ones as well. Which leads me to:

Test test test and retest. That's pretty much the key to everything. Expect to fail. Lots. But keep your eye on the end goal. It's not rocket science. It's just a matter of finding what works well for you and then scaling it up if possible. Takes time and often some money too. But it's ALL feasible.

I think it is good for Tier 1 sites. If they get looked at by a moderator then they may be closed, but otherwise it's fine.

If you are going to scrape content from the same sources used by millions of other people, it is not going to do any good. Find your own sources to get scraped content[not the ones everyone use], spin it and then use it.
