Hi Guys,

Is anyone using the scrapebox yellow pages plugin successfully for UK data?

I'm looking to scrape businesses at postcode level, but heard that the UK yell site blocks the plugin.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

The plugin works fine, but UK yellow pages blocks Ips pretty quickly, but it unblocks them pretty quickly too.

So you either need a lot of ips or you just need to go slower. The scraping part works fine and is accurate, but yellow pages on the whole blocks ips decently fast, but of the supported yellow pages engines UK is the second fastest to block with AU block the broadest and fastest. Again these UK blocks usually last only hours and are temporary, so its just a matter of enough ips or enough time.

Thanks Loopline :)

One quick question if that's okay?

Can I scrape business details just using postcode and maybe radius around postcode?

TIA

I have data of all businesses listed on Yell.com in UK and YellowPages.com in USA.

Not exactly, the yellow pages plugin requires keywords. So you could put in like

a
b
c
d
etc...

and run all 26 letters on all locations you want and likley get the business data you want, but you would need some keywords anyway because yellow pages returns a limited number of results from its database so using keywords forces diffrent sets of results. Then you can remove dupes when your done.

Thanks that's a very usable workaround.
