Hey, just want to let anyone who use scrapebox know that they NEED to have an antivirus program running with the program. Get something that protects you against WEB attacks.

If you don't do this, you WILL get a bunch of trojans on your machine.

Some Antivirus crashes the application.. just a little advice.

I usually end up hitting at least 3 compromised sites each run I do.

AVG catches most right away. I've started running a virus scan after each blast because I do pick up the odd one still.

Also uses AVG, Which handles the most of those rootkits.
It popups automatically and disables the url.

Run it in vmware or virtualbox it if your want to take extra precautions.
 
If we come across these domains that causes the viruses trojans etc, we should let sweetfunny know and get them added to the blacklist. This way it helps everyone

Now that is a good idea!

I'll start keeping track of these sites and pass on the info.
 
I always check my harvested lists with the scrapebox Malware and Phishing scanner addon and it really helps me to delete many infected url's, of course, it is not 100% accurate, but it is definitely worth to spend a bit more time before commenting and run this addon ;)
 
AVG does NOT get rid of everything..

Also the down fall is this. When you have your Anti Virus software running it slows down everything. Especially for those of you who want to run 2 instances of scrapebox at the same time.

Basically you will need ALOT of memory. Minimum 4 Gig of RAM.

You will also need a good Processor. Go with a Quad Core machine rather than a dual core. You will notice the difference.

Problem with this, is that ScrapeBox is tied to the actual PC and not the VM. Load SB on a VM and it will say you have no valid license.

well thats a simple solution. do your initial install in the VM. there no odd hardware code gets generated. IIRC, if you shoot him an email and say you needed to install hell reset your license.
 
Yeah, SW will reset the license if I ask, she has done it before no problems at all.

Thing is - would I need SB reactivated every time I use a fresh VM? VMs are throw away - I can use one a day, so if SB needed reactivating everytime it would be no use to me.
 
Why not reset it once, create fresh vm with it, take snapshot, blast and then the next time use the before the blast snapshot state? :)
 
It's common sense to use a good AV. Though i don't recall ever being seriously infected by just visiting a website.

VMware is great, i have NOD32 on my main computer and it picks up the trojans/whatever from all of the VMware clones = no AV needs to be installed in the WMware enviroment.
 
u must have a firewall (comodo or outpost) to stop it

who noob tells about AV ? (btw avg sucks Plus the user who use it)

AV DETECTED COZ YOU GOT INFECTED! and if its not Detetable what should it STOP IT? firewall maybe!!?!??!?

Use more than 1 AV and always a firewall at the main comp
and run this shit from vmware (there is ways to bypass vmware too)

So warning!
