Dear all,
I have a big problem with harvesting using scrapebox. Scrapebox runs for 24 hours but either I get about 100.000 blog or the PC crushes :-(
Maybe I think the proxies could be the problem. I use the 8 standard scrapebox source or I use the blackhatworld source. Usually I don't test the proxy becuase it takes too much time to find 300 good proxy (about an hour).
Have you an idea? How do you harvest with scrapebox?
Bye

AB

System parameter:
-Hp
-Windows XP
-1 GHertz
-RAM 512Mb (yes, I know it's poor...)
-8Mbps

Harvesting parameter:
-pubblic proxies
-all motors: google, yahoo, aol and bing
-blog: wordpress blog
-32 connessions (8 per motor)
-1000 risults
-timeout 90 sec

U should invest in VPS. I am able to harvest 70k urls in 15 mins. Go for berman hosting $15+private proxies from newIPnow($5 a month)

That would give u a great succcess rate..I dont think you can use Scrapebox to its full capacity on your PC with such slow connection

Also if you dont want to buy VPS atleast go for private proxies($5 a month). Public ones dont last thats the reason for your problem.

Your footprints (keywords) are important try to change them, take less results, test.

Always test the proxy, get more keywords, get more RAM (512 is way too low, I'd get ~2 Gigs)

You should test your proxies and get new proxy sources that's probably your biggest problem.

so basically you are being lazy and complaining about it. Why don't you test the proxies? Harvesting with dead proxies won't get you any results

This is amazing... I love technology. I am running some really bandwidth intensive scraping programs right now and if this is as fast as you say it is, it could help immensely. Thanks for the tip

EDIT: Just saw they also offer gigabit ethernet too for $5 extra a month. Did you spring for this?

After upgrading 1Gbps port upgrade, i can harvest 24/7 without any prob at all. most importantly if you are using many SEO tools simultaneously.

I literally just got set up on berman, went with 100mbs for now (seems to be enough to run 100 threads of any program)

Running a link checker I have works your internet connection more than scrapebox.

My question is I just signed up for premium access with newipnow, but it only gives me like 15 proxies and how do I use them in scrape box? Do I just copy and paste them in, and then guess on which port they use. I feel like I'll burn through 15 proxies in a second. Hell right now I have 150 free SB proxies pulling PR for 200K sites.

I will prob upgrade now that i think of it to the gigabit, and I'll prob need more proxies. I will be running super alex booster, and scrapebox, both scraping and checking PR almost constantly. My link checker doesnt need proxies but uses resources and internet connection

Any advice with the newipnow proxies would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your ideas. I will
-use less results
-test the proxy
-find better proxy sources
-upgrade my RAM

VPS with private proxy is too advanced for me :-)

WTF is happening with scrapebox ? It doesn't work the same every day. Or it's the settings

Scrapebox has been getting some DDOS attacks over the last month. They have it up and running quickly every time. You've just got to be patient and it'll come good. It is the best money I ever spent.
