Has anyone had any success running Scrapebox on Ubuntu with WINE? I haven't had any luck running it without errors.

Cheers!

you could download virtualbox on ubuntu and install windows and run scrapebox on it

I'm running it on virtual box with windows xp right now. I have some problems with the slow poster sometimes, but I think thats common with scrapebox....

Sweet. Setting up virtual box now. The help is appreciated greatly.

Cheers!

Do we have to get a new licensee (renew) if we move it to virtual box?

No you can use current one. But you have to contact scrapebox support team to transfer the license.

I run all the marketing programs which I have on my vmare.. and save all the data on the shared folder on ubuntu drive. I know the vmare can crash anytime...

Yeah virtual box is a pretty good option for running scrapbox and other softwares as well...
Ubuntu without virtual box ..is something like not harnessing power of ubuntu to its fullest extent...

The only sad thing is that you can still virtually forget about using multiple cores with vmware/virtualbox. KVM is the favorite virtualization solution of Ubuntu allowing for effectively using multiple cores, but it keeps crashing for me. Maybe once I will try to go for Xen.

Didn't tested yet but should run in Wine, I tested only the Link Checker

Any further updates regarding virtualbox and scrapebox? Sounds like a neat, secure solution.

So no I/O performance problems? No freezing network connection? No general performance problems (only 1 core...) ?

Definitely not like running it on a windows host machine but it's enough to get the job done. I would definitely look into a vps/deciated solution if you require top notch performance.

Quick suggestion unreal, could we have duplicate domain filtering on the fly like Hrefer and an increase on the 1mil limit so we can leave one instance constantly running while another begins dropping links as they come in.

The best I can come with using SE is picking from the harvest folder one file at a time, then adding removing, etc.

Is there another way people are using?
