Scrapebox NOT WORKING? :(

Are you saying make a thread about threads saying the program is down or make a thread about the fact that a competitor is attacking scrapebox? I mean I could easily DDoS your servers, but that doesn't mean you can do anything about it or that you and/or any services/sites you may offer/own should be shitlisted.

If somebody else sold a product with a nonfunctioning license server and wasn't communicating what they were doing to mitigate the problem, it doesn't matter what their excuse is, they'd probably be shitlisted and banned. Business is business, somebody else's DDoS isn't my problem and I shouldn't have to stop using something I paid for because their infrastructure is inadequate.

Clearly people have no clue about the nature of a DDOS attack. It's not like you can just say hey provision me a new server and let's get this up and running again. If a DDOS can bring down/cripple something like xbox live, visa and mastercard to name a few I think taking out a licensing server for a internet marketing software product is not too difficult by comparison.

SB should look into using a service like Cloud Flare.

Darn. I have 3 licenses.....My license at the office stopped working about 3 days ago...I have 2 at my home office....I did a restart on 1 computer and now it does not work....The one computer is still working because I have not shut off Scrapeboard. It runs all the time...So it appears it will work untill you close it....then it cannot validate your license......I use ScrapeJet also to send posts to all my blogs......It to is not working...I sure hope they get it going.

Worked fine for me.yeaterday. No no go.

1Haven't even had this software for up to a week and all this. Just really hoping they pull through and sort this out soon. I'm on a deadline

yes, it was working for 1 day and it went back offline. Blimey that's not what you would expect from a tool like Scrapebox. Just hoping things will get better and we can go back to "normality"

cheers

Its not the tool, its an Attack. Its not that the tool or servers or support is "malfunctioning" its an attack.

I think your completely off base about the shitlist part. Im not saying its your problem that they are being attacked, nor that they shouldn't state that this is an issue and that its being addressed. But they did clearly state there is an issue and they did clearly state its being addressed.

Regarding shitlisting and banning them:

Scrapebox has been up for 3 years now, its not like its been a historical problem, they offered a lifetime license and they have provided exponentially more value then the $57 that was charged.

Furthermore its an attack. Its not a malfunctioning anything, its not negligence on the part of scrapebox. Its not a "fault" of scrapebox, its a fault of the people who are being shrewd by attacking their competitors.

They have communicated. They have posted in the official sales thread and put popup notifications in their application.

I mean I think its pointless for them to waste their time every hour posting here, saying "still down, still working on it". It doesn't change it or fix it.

Can it get any more official then this?

What more do you want, for them to put a time stamp on it so that you feel like its up to date?

So far this month its had a 91% uptime, thats not "Awesome" but its not horrible either.

OUTAGE STATS:

Out of the past 5.5 days - 126 hours roughly the activation servers:

DOWN 68 hours

UP 58 hours

DOWN 53% of the time

UP 47% of the time.

For the activation servers to be up 47% of the time, and clearly be having a DDoS attack thats both posted about in the sales thread by the developer and posted about in the tool its self, that hardly qualifies it for a shitlist thread. If this had been the norm for 3 years, sure, shitlist it, but its been up in the high 99% of the range over a 3 year time frame.

This is the first month since Feb 2010 that there has been anything less then 99% uptime.

BE REALISTIC, this does Not qualify as shitlist.

If a Mod says otherwise, so be it.

My scrapebox is still saying cannot access serer, i hope they get this squared away asap!

No one should be blaming scrapebox or the creators,
blame the one's behind the ddos attack. What else
are they supposed to do right now except try to resolve
the issue? Make a bunch of posts on all these threads
for everyone that's upset about it?

Any reason not to do a shitlist thread about this?

Because scrapebox doesn't deserve a shitlist thread because they are getting a DDOS attack, maybe make a shit list thread about whoever is ddos'ing them. Scrapebox is a great program, and this isn't their fault.

But yes, I do think they should have put a backup server up, and emailed registered users only on how to validate using the backup server.

Well what are some backup ideas? What tools are out there that might be used in this circumstance now and in the future?

It is down again. I have had Scrapebox for atleast 3 years. This kind of thing hardly ever happens. Of course, I don't use it as much today as I used to. I'm more of a GSA and Ultimate Demon guy nowadays, but the Scrapebox guys are very good. They will get this fixed. Still, its a pain in the butt. I am trying to remove duplicate wiki links and check them for PR. It can be done in UD, but SB is by far the better route.

Wouldn't it be professional of "sweetfunny" to actually post something here about the problem? Wouldn't it be the right thing to perhaps email the subscribers of this software and keep them in the loop? The biggest problem with the owners of this software is that they are not "hands on" with their clients! This in itself leads me to wonder why I would buy other products from them in the future i.e. scrapejet!

i'm hoping their back up asap cuz i am backed up on my daily commenting blasts i have to keep moving forwatd

I feel for both sides of this.

Some blame SB, are upset and feel action should be taken.

Others defend SB for the many years they had 99.9% uptime.

I absolutely don't think they should be shitlisted, but I do agree with those that say they should have had a backup plan and should update the users. Even a 20 second email on the days it's down would be great. Just to reconfirm.

I have personally had SB since the beginning and have never once seen this form them, they are typically solid. DDOS attacks happen, you can't 100% prevent it, but you can be ready for it. That's why DR was created :)
