What's the learn function?

Man just bought this two days ago and now this =/ Come on Scrapebox team i really hope you fix this soon, already got fiver gigs up and need to get to work!

yeah... maybe Sweet Funny needs to charge a little more for the product and buy some new licensing servers. Perhaps store licensing data on something similar to amazon s3. Obv. he will lose out on future customers and word of mouth if the servers stay down long enough which I think we all can agree is bad for business.

It's not only SB. AMR, TraffikBuster, Article Kevo are also down. Looks like a simultaneous DDOS attack to a couple of tools and sites.

Later edit: EWP and TBS are also down :(

Yup. Someone is playing dirty.
Edit: I also bet their reading this thread laughing.

My opinion...i dont think that this issue is related with a DDOS attack, bringing down all the scrapebox servers..yeah meaby 1.
The DDOS attack overflood the server with requests till the point of saturation.
Example: all this Annonymous thing, taking down goverment wb site, they need hundred of machines sending request to the target ip address....I think Sb "servers" deals in a daily basis this kind of request when the users validates their licences.

Even so. Lets say it is a DDOS attack etc..etc. This type of attack stops once the objetive is down, and to launch the server back on track it shouldnt take more than 2 hours.

Its been like 12 hours right now, and not a word of Sweet Funny...I really, trully want than this issue is just because a DDOS attack, but i doubt it.

srry 4 the lazy gramm

They're working on it:

I just searched your username, and you were sent replies to both your emails. Check your spam folder, a few people with gmail have had our emails go to spam lately.

Currently the main site is down due to a ddos, i don't have an ETA when it will be back up. ScrapeBox is still working, it's just transfers and support emails currently unavailable.

can anyone suggest ant alternative?

Magic Submitter

Create a new service, double-click it and make it a parent service, add footprints, and then use the Platform Harvester function. I'm doing it right now scraping Moodle sites.

Important info that might be helpful:

Server Issues:

Thought I would just throw out some info. Scrapebox makes a few handshakes when validating the license the first and subsequent times, however once a copy is running there is no more call backs to the activation servers until it is closed down.

There are multiple severs, and you can always see all their status here:
http://stats.pingdom.com/vz0wm9714wj5

The Scrapebox.com1 and Scrapebox.com2 are the primary and secondary activation servers, respectively. The Scrapebox.com Website is the website server. The Website server started out with a DDoS attack and then the next day the activation servers also started getting attacked.

The activation servers have spotty up time, so you may get lucky and get your copy authenticated, but they are being hit pretty hard.

If you have a copy running you will be fine, and most/all addons you have installed should work fine, but you won't be able to install new addons. This is because the addons are also served up from the activation servers.

I know Sweetfunny is working on it. They have taken some measures in the past against DDoS and it solved the issue for a while, but whomever is doing it this time is hitting it harder then before. They told me in the past if they had more issues that they would take further steps, so I am sure they are working on that now. To make matters worse, they told me a couple days ago that their was some issue with their phone and internet lines and they were on wireless getting things done while they waited for the telecom company to restore service. I presume that that is all fixed, but Im sure it just complicated matters.

I don't of course have any kind of time frame, but the attack on the activation servers has been going on for about 16 hours at this point. I guess we will all have to wait and see how it pans out.

.....................................................

Still down for me in Cali

Your location has nothing to do with this issue.

Sounds to me like the Black Hat community needs the IP address of where the attack is originating from. Paybacks are a bitch.

there must be hundreds if not thousands of different Ips hitting the servers by this momment

i just cant find anything related with any kind of organization behind this attacks. Nothing on IRC also the onion net.

So (no, i dont thing the goverment its behind this...yet) must by a couple of hackers, hired by some X entity (looking 4 some kind of beneffit from this)

If so, this is a thing planned with time, cuz you need to plant bots in computers around the world and activate them to send at the same time, thousands of requests to the sb servers.......

........
mmmm...
ok, No more sifi movies for a while

ps: Or its just a google payback

Wow, am I glad I found this thread, I was about to buy scrapebox after reading about it on here earlier, but noticed a few recent posts complaining that it had stopped working, now I come back hours later and find it still isn't working and the thread has grown with similar complaints. Talk about good timing.

I know some have said that its worked flawlessly for the last year, but thats not important to a new customer, its more about what its doing now, and how reliable it will be in the near future, and this thread is not exactly a good first impression. Think i'll give it a few more months and see how this pans out, as i've lost all confidence in its reliability now, but just thought I'd post to thank you for making this thread, highlighting the scrapebox issues and potentially saving me wasting $57, at least in the short term!, :o

Its worked since it's release in 2009 flawlessly, not just the last year. As some have said they may have been ddos'd, in which that is out of their control and not their fault. Don't let that keep you from buying an amazing program.
