Scrapebox - buy lists or scrape them myself?

Which is more cost effective: buying already compiled, ready to use Scrapebox auto approve lists, or scraping them at my own?

For example, I found this website: http://www.all4scrapebox.com

They claim: "We use 3 i7 multicore servers that run 24 hours a day for compiling."

They also claim they have 544247 unique domains in their database.

If I would like to scrape the same amount of domains, then do I really need dedicated servers running 24/7?

So maybe it is much cheaper just buying a Scrapebox list than scraping it myself?

Ask yourself if you have more time or money.

To get those numbers, yeah you should pretty much leave it running all day. I do. 5 instances. And I'm not even considered a heavy user.

I'm actually seriously thinking about getting a dedi solely for scrapebox. It'll be absurd.

AA list are all over the Internet, i don't see the need to buy one.
You can find a ton of AA list in BHW itself. Download them all, run them in SB, remove the old ones and you have your own AA list :)

How do you even go about that ? I've considered leaving it running 24/7 but don't know how to automate the proxies part or what should I use it for. I mean, I can prolly add a list of 100,000 keywords and have it scrape Google, Yahoo and Bing but it will eventually finish ... What do you use it for ?

And how many private proxies do I need to scrape as many auto approve URLs as the http://www.all4scrapebox.com service?

I mean subscribing to a daily/weekly Scrapebox list service costs just $30-$50 per month. Setting up a dedicated servers and buying a lot of proxies is a lot more than $50 per month.

So my question: why would anyone scrape URLs at his own, if he doesn't sell them? Isn't scraping only cost effective when you sell the scraped list?

you have to learn how to do this for yourself. whatever list you buy is not unique. some others got it as well. and that means that you have a greater risk of getting caught by google for "unnatural backlinks".

try to learn how to make great lists for yourself with SB on your specific niche (something that no one will probably sell you)

and watch out cause you can do lots of harm to your site with this tool. master it and use it wisely

Ok so how much does it cost (server+proxies) to scrape about 400 000 auto approve URLs, and keep them fresh weekly?

No scraping with private proxies. That's throwing money away.

To automate, use Automate :) (it's a program, search).

I actually don't automate many tasks with scrapebox myself (cause I'm dumb and like wasting time with sb). In the morning or right before going to bed I'll have the list of what I want to do and set my different instances to do their jobs and when I know they're done I move to the next step.

As for proxies, I just get a few thousand and throw em in.

Now I'm researching automation when I should be writing, thanks....

When you scrape links, you can "guarantee" PR, you can see how many outbound links and comments there are, you can extract data, you can check alive status, you can make sure that the lists aren't blacklisted or "bad" sites. There's a lot of trust involved in buying URLs.

I've bought lists, and still do. I just prefer to get my own list because once your list gets to a certain size, economies of scale kick in and its way more cost effective

That's interesting, so I shouldn't use private proxies for scraping at all? Just use the Scrapebox proxy finder, and keep my proxy list fresh daily or so?

And for posting, should I use my private proxies, or are the free proxies fine even for posting?

Posting gets weird. Do some experimenting to see what success rates you have with private or public.

I've had not terrible luck posting with shared proxies, but private ones go so much faster and do post more consistently.

If you're blasting huge lists, be careful with using private proxies unless dups are removed.

Some people do like scraping with private proxies. Those people are called $Rich$. They do scrape way faster.

Maybe it's with the new version of SB, but I've been finding shared proxies working a bit longer than usual (if the list put in is large enough so you're not reusing the same proxy over and over again). It's nice.

If you don't have time to be looking for proxies, there are many excellent providers here on BHW. proxygo shares some insanely fast proxies, and also has a subscription service that I've only heard great things about. kokoloko75 also has nice nice lists (and makes his own scraper and is working on a proxy checker. dude's crazy good).

EDIT: I don't buy very many private proxies, so I can't really point you very much in a direction regarding that. Also, I'm pretty much a noob with SOCK proxies, so don't ask about those...BUT...They scrape nicely. I found Bing really likes SOCK.

you go over to the proxy list section here in the forum. you get a decent free proxy list and you have 0 costs. if you want to raise your posting (not scraping) success you just need to buy 10-20 private proxies (also cheap in here) and that will make the job done.

LakeForest,

Sound advice, but I'll have to disagree with the above quote. Scraping Google with private proxies is fairly simple and can be done for weeks on end without stopping. You can either set your connections to a ratio of 1:5 against proxies (i.e 20 Private Proxies set 4 Connections), or another method is to use the RND delay located in the posting section (set a timer of at least 1-2 seconds).

While it may be slower than large public proxy lists, it will allow you to scrape through keyword lists 100's of thousands large without stopping. Additionally, from my testing I've found using 12 connections versus 48 connections to have negligible difference in URL's per second. It's certainly better to split harvesting amongst a few sessions.

See, you're intelligent and responsible with your proxies. Moderation and wise use is absolutely key. Once I burned through my privates(haaa burned my privates) on accident and it's just been downhill since then. Only used for posting now adays for me, and I change proxies every post. Delay of 2, but it's funny you mention RND as I was just contemplating that last night.

I set 100+ connections to scrape using shared with no delay besides regular timeout. The 1:5 ratio is perfect and the fact I didn't mention it just shows how foolish I've been to forget intelligent use, and how careless I've been with my private proxies. I've been focusing so much more on speed cause I've been doing everything myself lately that long term sustainability has been an afterthought.

I always tell people to protect their investment in their proxies, I should do the same. Had a lil epiphany here, thank you.

EDIT: Saw NikosX posted a proxy list. Got more than half to pass google and 3/4 were anon. Very good list

dont waste on them huge just buy huge list and get it worked for atleast 20 days ... cheapest list i got from scrapeboxy.com

I'd recommend scraping your own lists, it takes a little bit to get
the hang of it and figure out the ideal method of finding AA's. But
it's well worth it. Why?

Because when you buy a list, chances are a ton of other people have
that list as well. That means that the websites will be killed soon by
there hosting and/or webmasters that own the blogs.

By scraping your own list, you can keep it to yourself and have the
potential of having a list that sticks for a long long time.

i agree with you completely that mostly all lists are spammed too much but as far i have the experience i use to buy aa lists at very cheap price at scrapeboxy.com .. 1st list i bought from it and its giving me abode 80% success rate :P

i agree with you super links that most of links are spammed too much and i found it hard to harvest on my own as it takes much time ... so i use to buy lists from scrapeboxy.com .. i bought my 1st list from that site and its giving me abode 80% success rate till now :P .. kinda lucky lol

thanks for your help!

And should I post only to auto-approve blogs? If I write clever, non-spammy general comments, what approval rate can I achieve on non auto-approve blogs if I still blast to these blogs in bulk?
