What if some site creates an article/video/image that suddenly gets very popular and get loads of backlinks?

Google: hmmm that's not right lets De-index , Sandbox him etc when he doesn't keep up with this amount of linkbuilding

Hi guys- just an update, the site is back to bottom of first page but still not back to 9th, for second keyword it moved from 11th to 16th and is still there. Overall unique visits to the site are up on average from last week 50 per day!
 
Hey Richie,

It does take a couple of days to a couple of weeks for the shake out. I'd bet that traffic jump was from lots of long tail keywords. I see this often after a big blast.

A big piece of advice though would be to keep velocity up like a lot of people here have already said as well. Try to level out spikes in the link graph. With 14,000 sticking, I'd drip feed another 14,000 out for 3-4 weeks.

Wait, a "VERY competitive" keyword on the first page and only getting 50 hits a day from it? :confused:

How competitive are we talking?

If you keep sending alot of links daily aka High Link Velocity then its ok..

Lol. Google most likely isn't going to look into your site for a 14k SB blast, not to mention not all 14k are instantly found by Google. They aren't gods with unlimited human resources to be manually checking sites that get little bumps of backlinks.
 
How old is your domain and how much original content do you have? Very important to note that.
 
Sorry checkmate I meant an increment average of 50, not 50 unique visits only.

We don't have very much unique content as it's an ecommerce site, we do have. Blog but it hasn't been updated for a while?!

did you ping all you backlinks ? in a week you should have good results
 
I use google analytics but not adsence? Why do you ask?
 
Ok had another bounce from 10 to 11 to 10 again, still one below original position.

I am interested in using other websites as buffers? How does this work?

Is your number of backlinks adding up from the initial blast?

You dont have to be scared, i do this every day, i have blasted a list couple a days ago ive got 35k backlinks found after the check, i was on a 5th place for the main keyword, i am now after 5 days on 165th place and it stoped, it is normal, after a week or so you will be back to normal or better then it was before it all depends of the backlinks. :D

Ok shit has hit the fan again ... Second keyword has dropped from 11th to 20th, main keyword has dropped from 10th to 34th!!!

Is this another google dance? Or are we being penalised??
 
This is getting exciting.... I will subscribe this as I have a plan to blast my site .. my 5 months old site in very competitive niche..
 
Just out of interest, was these 14k links pointing directly to your money site, or through a buffer? Also, did you vary the anchor text and URL's??
 
yes i varied it between 7 keywords - and yes all links were pointing to the homepage? Big mistake??

I just started a new campaign just linking to my homepage (all kw's where on my homepage because it was a WP blog) but I figured I'd might as well blast each page separately and it helped tremendously in SERPs, but I aim for 15 different kw's in the same niche I'm not sure what you do.

I got my site blasted last month for 10k links. Then it dropped from 3 position 1st page to 8th position. Around last week, its now on the 2nd position of the first page. Thats when I actually bought the service. Now, I'm going to try to do it myself. :)
