Scrapebox Best Practices - Enough is Enough!

I have had SB for a while now but I still dont really see the point of the comment poster part of it since it mostly just gets you low PR nofollow links with hundreds of outgoing links on the page.
Could anyone please explain to me why its so great since that what it usually gets you?

You are right on point 1-3. However point 4 is only partially true, as Akismet blocks Ips if you sent more then 100 comments an hour, which any Scrapebox user reaches in matter of hours/days. So if you are getting a private proxy for point 4 mainly, dont botter. However point 1 - 3 are important enough for any Scrapebox user. Getting a 50% post rate as opposed to 20% is huge for me. As Im blasting 20000 blog comments an hour 24/5

That is way it is point #4 =)

Yeah that is why I said this especially applies if it is a totally clean private proxy IP address (like you setting up your own). And if you are only fast blasting auto approved. Even slow posting needs a big delay to avoid the Akismet block.

Chinmokuyuuki, with your math... hypothetically... if I had 10 private proxies that were Akismet clean, I could slow post just under 1000 comments each hour. And as long as I randomize the URLs and e-mails and the comments are good where they'll likely pass an editor's review...I could avoid getting an Akismet block.

I wish some of my money sites weren't Akismet blocked =(. Sucks with the manually commenting on the high PR blogs. I know I'm going into the potential spam box.

Thanks for the info. I bought scrapebox a few days ago and not yet used it. I'm going to invest in some private proxies and go from there.

I wan't sure if this software was right for what I wanted it for, I know that sounds stupid!
I've been manually writing a comment to every blog myself and am looking to find better blogs to post on. I'm looking to get links to my money site (selling physical products) so was going to slowly build up good links without spamming the hell out of everything. Basically I don't want people to associate my website with spam.

I've read thats a bad idea, but would another website that redirects to the money site be an ok buffer? I'm guessing it should be something I don't own like a domain?

I'm going to do a lot of reading and really figure out a plan of action, gotta get it right.

ok great thread, great information , and alot of discussion in private vs public proxies, direct vs indirect blasting(trough buffersites).

so i thought i would add my 2 cents and add some ways how to still get value out of old AA lists

autoaprove list recycling:

  1. get a old autoaprovelist load it in the harvester > remove duplicate domains > trim to root > export to a txt file > open in notepad add /sitemap.xml at the end of all domains > save changes > launch the sitemap scraper plugin > load the new edited list > scrape.

this is great as you get all inner pagest/posts and alot of them will be autoaprove.

  2. get a old autoaprove list > launch link extractor plugin > import the old aa list > at the links option select "both" > start scraping > export when finished , then start again but instead of importing the old aa list import the extracted urls, when thats finished export those too. after a few times merge all the extracted urls and remove duplicates.

this is great from a small list you can create a big one ;)

hope this helps some people ;)

happy blackhatting,

Here's an idea...

1. Look on Twitter for trending topics.
2. Scrape blogs for one of them
3. Scrape tweets (TweetAttacks does this well) for that topic
4. Use those as comments for your blasts

Firstly - great thread - thanks for all the advice.

But I have a question relating to your proxies comment - Why?
Why aren't free proxies as good as private paid for ones? I mean if the free proxies have been tested and are working and they post the comment correctly, what does it matter if you used a free proxy or a $10 proxy? The blog owner either doesnt see the IP address or care...

It's not the price that is the issue.

The major downside to free proxies is that everyone can use them. This is why they get abused, then reported, then deleted (yes, blog owners can see the IPs which is why they get reported and become useless so fast).

Private proxies means only you have access to them (hence the name). They can still get reported and blocked if you abuse them (which is why you need to make sure you know how effectively blog comment so that you don't get flagged), but the chances are much slimmer since only you are using those proxies.

I don't want to make this thread longer than necessary (so that we have a concise SB reference) but I recently bought this tool and have been wondering if all these people making huge blasts are ruining things for everybody else. I mean if somehow blog commenting gets attacked by google because of these big blasts, SB may one day become useless. I don't want to see that happen.

well that has already happened my friend. if you look this thread was started a year and a half ago. Just using scapebox to blast comments still works though. But it has been abused and as a result forum commenting doesn't hold the power it used to.

On the first page, somebody mentioned reading the unofficial Scrapebox guide. Where is that? Are they referring to something here at BHW, or the one at scrapeboxfaq or something?

Also just thought I'd let everybody know you can buy 4 or 5 proxies on fiverr for five dollars.

Not so anymore my friend.....SB has released their NEW learning mode
which means you can now post to any blogging platform so now you can
find blogs that no one has ever posted to PLUS many of these blog owners
have never been blasted by SB before so they do not know what comment
spam is. it's like sept 2009 all over again for me when comment spam worked

It's retards who spam a blog with 20 comments, all linked to a site that doesn't even exist. If you're going to use SB, at least have BRAINS enough to make sure your linkback url is correct, or step away from the computer alltogether....

Very Nice and effective tips.
I'm going to buy a copy of SB.
I think your tips will help me a lot......:D

they're probably checking to see if it's an autoapprove blog

just harvested proxies with SB for the first time and I'm getting "IP blocked" on all. Why is that?

Other people are using them as well dude, happens to me all the time

Making an auto approve list is a bitch. Out of 5k "posted" links I got about 300 AA. Trying to get ALL the pages from the sites right now and im blocked to hell

Well something ought to be done by Sweetfunny and the SB team to try and keep the tool from becoming less and less effective. Since SB uses SB servers, sensible limits can be set at the server level.

I know a lot of people will hate that idea but the alternative is to always have careless people constantly attracting the attention of the search engines in a really bad way.

Kind of like being on a night surprise attack with people who are constantly shooting flares and shining their flashlights, directing the enemy to our location and activities.

They need to make money too, but they also need to preserve their tool.

I'm just beginning to use scrapebox but as you have success with it you learn more and more about it. Heck I want to buy a second license right now because there is so much I want to be doing.

SB is one of the best software that I have bought so far. Its really sad to see some people abusing the software by using stupid comments and keywords. Then they come here and bitch about their IP getting banned or drop in Google rank.
