scrapebox backlink checker error 999??

Get some private proxies.

Im having this same problem with 25 private proxies and using 50 connections. Gonna give it a few mins and try 10 connections.

I have 30 private proxies and I'm using 10 connections, I still keep getting error 999 messages.

lol, this thread seems to have kept going in my absence.

I came around again since I got the issue again.

What someone mentioned about lowering connections to 5 did the trick for me using my 8 shared proxies. It's rather slow but still going strong so far...

I seem to be getting alot of timeouts...is this normal?

I had the same error, 12 private proxies, so I decided to drop down to 1 connection at a time. I had almost no errors, plus it was still fast

Got the 999 error on Yahoo while harvesting urls using some 400 keywords; only 3 private proxies. Am I doing something wrong?

Yahoo has stopped at 14k url's harvested - Google 72k Bing & AOL : 0.

I guess I am using few proxies for the amount of urls to be harvested not sure though.

Have to say I am pretty new to scrapebox just know my way around the basics.

Yep.. just as the harveting completed I can see more than half of the keywords are not completed on both search engines.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

How many connections are you using? With Google, it's good to harvest at 20% of your total proxies to keep from getting blocked. Only having 3 private proxies isn't really enough to harvest from Google (or anywhere) without getting blocked. Most users find that using public proxies are better for harvesting as it keeps their private proxies fresh.

Yahoo has also updated its algorithm so it will block proxies much faster than it used to. I used Yahoo a lot back when I could harvest unlimited, but now I pretty much use Google for all my scraping.

Scraping can also be effected by the operators you are using. If you use special operators like "site:" and etc, your proxies will die out very quickly.

It's currently running the fast poster at 40 connections with 3 private proxies, I was aware of the connections feature but I never knew I could set it just thought it chooses a certain number of connections depending on how many proxies/URLs to post to are.. where can I set the connections number?

It's the same place you adjust it for the fast poster settings. Settings --> Adjust Maximum Connections --> Adjust Google, Yahoo, and whatever else as necessary. :)

That will limit how many simultaneous requests you're making to each search engines. If the number is appropriate to your proxies, it will help them not get blocked so quickly, public or private.

Thanks for your imput. One question a proxy one blocked can not be used to harvest again? It would be wierd because so many proxies are resold several times..

It's only a temporary block. It will be lifted in a little while (I don't know the exact time, and I think it depends on how much you were hammering it). Thankfully, Google is more forgiving than Akismet. :p

Error 999 is a self defense block from Yahoo because SB doesn't have a delay and even if you have proxies each proxy is hammering their server faster than a normal human would so they softblock you. Only solution is to decrease number of connections and it definitely has to be less than the number of proxies you're using. I think SB doesn't rotate proxies on every link but rotates on every 5 so even with proxies you're making 5 almost simultaneous requests each time that proxy rotation comes around. Drop the number of connections is the only work-a-round atm.

Personally I'm using 20 connections and 10 private proxies for link checker. And I'm using this settings on 2 vps servers. So, practically I run 40 connections with the same 10 private proxies. Never had any problem or any error.

Just got this error and reduced it to 1 connection still no luck :(

I'm going to chill out on the backlinks and redo them later on today.

I have at least 50 private proxies, I reduced my connections to 5 and I still get the error. Is there any permanent solution?

hmm i just got this error for the first time.... i have 10 proxies and i am now using 3 connections at the same time... but unfortunately it is very slow now

18 urls/s now

that is less than 72k urls per hour :S
