is anybody else geting this error? It started accuring today.

I believe it's a Yahoo error and the 999 error means you've spammed too much.

The most common reason for receiving Yahoo Error 999 is due to some sort of bandwidth limiting system that Yahoo has put in place on their servers. Once you have exceeded your allotted bandwidth for a specific period of time Yahoo gives you this Error 999 message and doesn't allow you to access the service. People have primarily reported receiving this error when they try to access Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Groups, but other Yahoo services may also be affected.

Why has Yahoo done this? There are two reasons that I can think of:

1. To prevent DoS (Denial of Service) attacks.
2. To stop automated tasks from hammering their servers with hundreds of requests a second.

Get more proxies.
 
I use proxies and get the same error.
 
If its public proxies, it doesn't help avoid flag.

for you its fresh but for me they are dead:)
Public proxies are public. Imagine that at the same time you use them, at least 10 more people use the very same proxies.
The actual number is by far greater!
 
The backlink checker addon works just fine.
I just checked without proxies, and with private proxies, no error.
If you get a 999, it might be a temporary yahoo issue or your proxies are bad.
 
it works now it had to be yahoo problem but I something is still wrong. I run one domain name through it it comes up with 5700 backlinks i click on show and it only shows 1000.

It stoped working back to error 999 iam using private proxies.

Thats correct, Yahoo only returns 1000 backlinks max.
 
still geting 999 error anybody else? iam using fresh proxies tried private ones same outcome

I forced ip change with my isp same problem.

Some more info about error 999:

The 999 - unable to process request at this time is a self defense mechanism implemented in many Yahoo! services and web servers as a way to prevent abuse. The 999 error is actually defined as an HTTP response code (http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html) with the value of 999 from a Yahoo! web server. The 999 response code is usually accompanied with an HTML body text saying that the service is unavailable but this is not always guaranteed to be the case. The 999 HTTP code is a custom HTTP code specific to Yahoo! web servers.

I used to get the same error alot, but I've found a way around it...

You need to lower your connections to around 5 connections, then retry.

Make sure you wait at least 10 minutes before you retry tho or it won't work.

This way works for me all the time :cheerlead
 
What I do is use MANY proxies which helps me not get the error right away
 
i dont get this problem anymore it had to be yahoo problem.

i solved it ..have 20 proxy .. put connection to 10 and working :)

I had this issue from 2 days ago. How you you guys solve it? I can't even add my proxy to the list, it keeps on going without proxy.
 
Perhaps you by accident unmarked the use proxies tick box?
 
For bulk backlinks extraction- better use Backlinks Parser. It doesn't need proxies and is super fast & dirty cheap.
 
hmm I got an error 12/ through a 100kk blast on my vps.

I wondered why but reading this thread I remembered I wasn;t using a proxy on it. Is it likely I got banned? who is it that bans you? google?
