A nifty little "scam" I discovered today.... So this organization posts ads on LinkedIn targeting professional women. Thinking it's basically a networking org, I click it to scope it out. When I get to their site it looks super spammy and raises some serious redflags.... Hmm So I google, "**** scam" and lo and behold a plethora of complaints and reviews and blog posts come up that absolutely hate on this organization. Here's the business model: 1. Advertise with targeted linkedIn members 2. Offer "free" membership to those who "qualify" (read, everyone...) 3. Follow up with members who register and prompt them to talk about their accomplishments (Generally not difficult with most people/women) 4. Follow up again with an opportunity to be "Woman of the Year for *insert your state*! All you have to do to reserve your chance to win is give us $995!" 5. Laugh at dumb women while you Scrooge McDuck into your ill-gotten gains A very serious part of me wants to use my BHW knowledge for evil and find exciting ways to bring them down.
