The order consisted of 10,000 words that I requested to be written into 15 articles. Before even ordering, I sent him the instructions and asked if he can deliver, he agreed and I transferred him the money by Paypal.
A couple of days later he delivered me articles that were way below any acceptable standard. They were written in broken English and basically unreadable. Obviously, I wasn't happy about that and complained to him asking either for a refund or the articles to be rewritten. He apologized and promised to rewrite them.
Since I was a bit hesitant, I asked him to rewrite 1 article. He agreed to it and sent me the article that was of acceptable quality. It still had some errors in it and some sentences sounded a bit strange (still way below what was promised in the sales thread) but I agreed to it, mainly, because I wasn't expecting much from a service that cheap and I planned to rewrite it anyway in my own style. Plus, he was very nice and patient and I kind of felt bad making him do extra work.
When he sent me the rewritten work, I took a quick glance at the articles and agreed to them (for the reasons mentioned above). I was on holidays back then and didn't bother with using them right away.
Just one thing that I think is important to mention here: the quality difference between the first batch of articles and second ones is huge. While the first articles were barely understandable, the second ones had some mistakes in them but were better structured and a lot of sentences were grammatically correct.
After I got back, I started to rewrite one article to fix the mistakes and noticed that some sentences sounded familiar. That's when I noticed that he has blatantly plagiarized one of my competitors by rewriting his work sentence by sentence. After checking 3 more articles and finding the same thing, I knew that I can't use any of the articles because he might have plagiarized them and I would have to rewrite everything just to be on the safe side.
So in conclusion, not only did his delivered work match that what was promised in the sales thread, and in hindsight I was way too lenient in accepting it, I still got scammed by him.
All I want is a refund, there is no need to ban him (unless he refuses). But I think that's for the mods to decide.
I added 2 conversations we had here in BHW and in Gmail. There is a third conversation where he delivers the final work and I agree to it, but I think that's not important (will post it, though, if requested).
