So if i understand this correctly. He scammed the OP, then requested via GDPR BHW to remove ALL of his information from BHW DB (Deleted member) and got away with $500 in his pockets?
I hope this is not something that people/scammers will start to abuse. Can get messy quite quickly.
Looks like it, although as this member didn't have a current marketplace thread then there wouldn't have been a resolution solution in place. If in doubt, always ask anyone you're considering buying from for a link to their live marketplace listing. That way you.
1. Can see what the merchant can offer.
2. See the level of feedback they have from other customers.
3. Engage with them on their thread to see how they work.
4. Check how they post on BHW via their previous posts. Are they all about their threads, or do they add decent unique articles to the forum based on the topic you're hiring them for?
There is all this and more on MP2. The information is all currently there, you just have to manually process it for now.
Fortunately, although little solace in this case, this rarely happens. It's really no different to someone simply not handing over the service when you have paid for it, which again rarely happens due to our
marketplace onboarding and verification process . When that odd one does get through, our outstanding community hits the
report button or raises a
shit list and it gets handled.
As mentioned above it's a GDPR issue that we're working on a solution to.
