Scammed by an imposter

Offered to sell me a Merch by Amazon account. I paid via BTC and after sending the transaction ID he blocked me and will not reply to the PM's sent.

It really sad to see a Senior Member that has been on BHW since 2011 scam over $70.
It business that bad @sk8tavou ? If so, keep the $70 .. you must need it much more than me.

WARNING: Anytime someone ask for BTC cause their PayPal is closed because of "refund issues" that should be a pretty big red flag they have problems delivering. I didn't think anything of it cause he was a Senior Member since 2011 with great reviews but if it doesn't sound right it probably isn't.

Hello, the same problem, be scammed by this guy sk8tavou, slim_dusty, Glitterseo and the one said he is bornformoney at the same time.

Sorry because I report 4 scammers in 1 topic like this.

I've just received a report from someone claiming to be @sk8tavou - it appears they have lost access to their account. There's a possibility that they have been hacked. I'm currently looking into this with them through the support forms.

EDIT: I'm temporarily banning their account so that there are no further complications. I'll lift the ban when this is resolved.

I am @sk8tavou 's friend in real life. I am really sorry for @adpire 's situation but sk8tavou was indeed hacked. He cannot access his account and the email has been changed, so he cannot reset the password. He would never scam anyone.
Hopefully this issue is resolved, as he is currently waiting for the mods to find out what exactly happened and when it did happen.

2nd shitlist in 2 days, two 6 year old members of this community. Was searching to buy an AWS account, this guy approached me and asked me for my skype ID. We talked, I sent him 30$ via BTC, he dissappeared. He logged in today, but completely blocked me on skype. I saw he was talking to other members so be careful when you deal with pathetic scums like this one.

How about @sk8tavou reimburses everyone that got scammed before we unban him.

i no i have no part in this but as we all no as vips there are times when we take a break
from the forums, it happens , if the users account was hacked [if] its hardly his fault if he was
mia and hacked in his absence and to have him pay for something he has no knowledge of
would be a tad unfair .

thats like say saying if i steal your car adpire, and run some1 over
you should pay there compensation bill as it was your car that did it
even though i stole it..... sound fair?

this is of course if he was hacked.

Your analogy is way off base. If you're a business and you're taking payments, you are definitely on the hook for any theft/fraud that may occur in the real world - online, you should be watching your accounts, it should be part of YOUR due diligence to set up 2FA, make sure your passwords aren't reused, changing them after your Yahoo account gets compromised, etc. otherwise it's just pure negligence on your part that caused these people to lose their money.

I feel like if the account holder took _reasonable_ steps to ensure his accounts security(2FA - seriously, it's not that difficult) he shouldn't be on the hook, but if he wasn't taking steps to protect himself and his buyers, he should be responsible for the damages.

As most of you understand my account was hacked and as i saw this happened to 1-2 other members aswell. I don't know if this is the same person and i never understood which did this to me but finally everything is ok and i can say it was one of the worst experiences i ever had.

Of course i am really sorry about the people here in the forum that got a bad deal with my account but as you can clearly understand as long as i will be more than happy to help you with that, i don't have any clues about it.
As proxygo said its not about saying that i don't have any resposnibility about it but as you can easily understand i lost money from some personal account which noone will give me. Because this is how it works.

A threat is a threat and it can usually use someone else to achieve his goal.

Again really sorry for everything that happened these days and if any of you need any help about the issue and the things you got scammed, maybe i can help you get them. So just contact me.

I can attest that his account was indeed compromised.

If he is willing to help you out that is above and beyond what would be required as he certainly did not want his account hacked.

I'll leave the thread up so those watching it can see what actually happened but I am going to close it from further commenting and I am also changing the title as it does not reflect the truth.

This is also a good opportunity to remind you that your password for all sites, including BHW, should be hard to guess and if you have the opportunity for two step authentication, which you do here, use it.
