the ' | ' character essentially means 'OR', and basically that means bring up results with either of these keywords with the '|'/'OR' character in between them
so basically it'll bring up all results that have at least one of the footprints, if you used '&', or 'AND', then you'd be searching for results that MUST have all four footprints, if there is a result that has only 3 of the 4, it wouldn't be shown.
I agree with Stu and biker however, running each search COULD bring up more results in total, versus searching for all footprints at once.
it's up to 1000 results of blogs with any of the 4 footprints versus 4000 results if you do each footprint by itself, if you're just sifting through on the web browser...
I haven't fooled with scrapebox, so I don't know if you'd really get a million results

With the new fast commenter I don't see where it matters much aside from organization.

Really simple actually, if you're on Windows, you need to press alt+F4. Or you could search this forum for better ways (but you won't find any, trust me).
