So — haven't been active here over the last 2.5 years again, but haven't forgotten this forum and my roots. I guess, in some capacity, I've always shared my updates here every few years whenever I felt I've hit a major milestone.
2.5 years ago I started a series of threads here outlining my journey from the start, while I haven't gotten time to finish those yet, and I plan to, I'd like to bring you all to the current day updates. The past few years I've been working in Robotics, with extreme obsession of wanting to bring AI into the real world. Well, my side project has finally gotten some validation. It's been recognized by, and I've been invited by the Chinese Government to speak at the recent World Manufacturing Convention that happened in Hefei, Anhui (China). I had the opportunity to meet with the directors of BYD and Alibaba Group, as they were also my co-speakers.
I think it's a major milestone, going from what seemed like a never ending money pit to now getting some sense of reality. It was a crowd of over 400, several government officials, really the first time speaking at such a stage. I guess I'm onto something.
For the sake of discussion, I'm building autonomous machines in the area of construction. Plan is to build a factory in Hefei. Interested to hear what you guys think of bringing AI into the real world, and the future of real world automation.
