Saturday in the office..

I do like a bit of office porn. I have questions @splishsplash.
  1. Why do you have both Euros and sterling in cash? In fact... why do you have cash?
  2. Our bookcase is similar. Is Making Ads Pay worth a look?
  3. How has that monkey not fallen?
I love the idea of having the coffee machine that close to the desk but I can't trust myself. It needs to be in a separate room.

The cash just adds to the office.

I live in a world of electronic money, so I particularly like having some cash in the drawer. I like to look at it, hold it, use it when I can. It feels REAL. Nothing like good old cash. Your reaction is exactly why. "why do you have cash". It's becoming so redundant in our world.

Multiple currencies also makes it more fun. I'm going to build it up so there's about $10k in USD, 10k in euros and maybe 5k in GBP, plus some gold bars.

GBP because I'm British. Euros because I live in Portugal. Cash is actually still needed more, so I would need to keep a few hundred euros to pay cleaners/dog walkers etc. I like the 10's because they're useful. Small, easy to spend and look great in a big stack :-) Of course, a big stack of 50's is nice too, but it's less usable here. No one wants to be paid in 50's.

Yep Making Ads Pay is a classic.

Haha, you spotted my monkey! He looks after the cash. He's a bit of a rogue sometimes though. I've caught him smoking my cigars and drinking whisky before.. Need to be careful with him, but he never steals the cash so I keep him on!

It's just all office porn though.

Money, whisky, coffee, electronics, books, cigars. It just adds to the "energy" of the office.

Do you use the printer to get the cash directly from stripe?

Just the cash machine every so often I take some out to add to the collection. :-)

Airport one has 50's, the others have 20's. 10's are hard to get. I found one that was out of 20's so I took out as many 10's as I could.

After few drinks, how to manage so many screens

Haha. The trick is in the screen to drink ratio ;-)

Yes, room temperature pure whisky is the best.

Whisky is mandatory for any boss office :)

I used to hate Office porn pics, they made me envious because i suck at organization.

Amazing office! You have a fireplace blocked by your desk tho, it even looks real one - why not use it? :)

holy shit , i can't work with that amount of wine there , how the fuck you could resist , ill be drunk by 8:30 lol
My home office is attached (few beers , can't imagine working with hard liqueur or even wine , beer is enough for me lol)

But yeah independent work really need the guts , not for everyone !
Enjoy (have fun from time to time though)
Cheers

It's real :-) It's a wood fireplace. I had it cleaned when I moved in, but I've not used it yet. I will give it a try at some point though.. Never tried one before, but it's probably very nice. Especially now it's getting cold.

I'm not a big drinker.. I enjoy a drink, but just a small whisky or a glass of red wine. That red wine on the table was my wife's though. I wasn't drinking whisky and wine at the same time! :-)

I like a beer too, but beer is more prone to giving me headaches sadly. White wine too gives me a headache. Whisky, very very rarely. Red wine almost never too.

I mainly like the bottles of whisky for the decoration. I only have a small glass 2-3x a week. It's just all part of the ambiance. I like the vintage office feeling.

My dream office space is something like

LOTS of books. I had more books but I lost a lot of them over the years with moving around. When I settle down into a house I finally buy I will build a collection though. But buying a house is the last thing to do. It's dead money. What's better, spending $1mil on a house that earns you nothing, or investing $1mil into digital assets that can make you $25k-$40k/mo and then renting a $2mil house for $10k-$12k/mo.

Wow! You rich rich

what’s the router-looking black stuff on the table?
Do you live stream/make videos?

Not sure which bit you mean.

There's a router, a coffee machine and a moveable monitor arm.

I don't live stream or make videos, no.
